I've been on bikes since I was seven, I've told people on here I don't come here for criticism from some pussies who grew up on 250 ninjas and finally got the 14 when they turn 40. I've been on a 14 for over a year now(had the 11 all last summer) I have had no wrecks and no tickets. Therefore no one has any justification to judge me other then jealousy. I was asking because my friend told me a street racing story about two local guys. One pulled over the other didn't. The guy that didn't pull over, wouldn't drive for a month. I was asking if anyone knew. About this I wanted to find out if it was true. almost every single person on here jumps to the conclusion that it's automatically me, yes I do speed but so far in the sticks that if the rare chance a cop came out there he would never get close enough to see my blacked out plates. Stop criticizing me when you have absolutely no reason to do so.

Oh smart guys lets look at 3 month old posts about an unrelated incident. I got an m.i.p amd I wasn't even close to driving anything so do your homework before you try and make a stupid comments.

I never ran from the cops. Even once down Carmel Valley Road in California, I went flying past the county mounty in my Porsche doing double the speed limit. No radar then. He tried to follow. LOL. At the mouth of the valley where CVR runs into Highway 1, I pulled over. No reason to run into CHP on 1 and get pulled over for fleeing.

So along comes the mounty, gumball flashing, and pulls up behind me. Out comes stereotypical Sheriff with gunbelt and belly and all.

"Son, you was speeding when you went by, but I couldn't clock you. It is high speeds and reckless driving like that that makes people hate kids in Porsches."

I looked my best "I am cold calm man" at him and said, in an even voice, "Which might explain why everyone, including you, wishes they had one."

He didn't even give me a warning.

If I had run and kept running on Highway 1, Motorola would have dimed me out to CHP who would have thrown me in jail.

I swear when you kids and your 14's get together youns all just become persistant traffic offenders whom unlike myself may travel as much as 5 mph above the posted speed limit.

To me it makes more sense to pull over and take a ticket than get hauled off in a body bag from trying to run but then if I did run I would be in the cage for the next couple weeks or if you are like me and have 6 bikes then ride a different each day with different gear so you not be standing out plus taking a different route may help.

I would love to have a new 14 but I am not ready to sell 3 of what I have to get it. My 2008 dynoed out at 175 rwhp and I can live with that AND the 2008 ain't near as fugly as the 2012................

Yup. Growing up in So-Cal I waited until I was at least 19 before I ran from the police on a motorcycle. At 17, nobody could tell me sheeit. At 19 I was a frickin' genius. Anyway--instant felony. Enjoy your new life with felon tagged onto your name, along with all the perks that go with it. Hopefully there won't be any collateral damage.

My 1st time of runnin from a cop was 18 and I had a 500 triple. Sitting at a stop light and got surrounded by cops with them jumping out of their cars and guns drawn. I looked like I went into an epeleptict seizure when one of the cops asked if I was ok. I was shaking so bad I could not give a strait answer or even nod my head. The cop hit the kill on the bike and kept telling me it was ok until I got my act back together.

He finally told me that a 7-11 or something like that had been robbed by a guy on a bike. I worked 2nd shift and just came out of White Castle with a little air under the front tire when he saw me. I was the only bike out at 1 am so I got tagged but not before I drew a little attention to myself. It took the cop about 10 seconds to figure out I was not the bad guy and he was really good about making sure I was ok.

That was when I decided it would never pay to run from cops and now I pull over before they have to get behind me. I shot thru radar at 55 in a 40 and pullded over before the cop had his car in drive. He just pulled behind me and said I guess there is no reason to ask if you know you were speeding and let me go.

take the ticket - get the bike towed - get a lawyer - don't end up dead or crippled but that is just my opinion.

good advice...unless they're unable to pursue. If they can't chase you, slow just a bit but get the hell out of there fast.

Give him a little credit guys, I doubt any of us (or many other teens) could stay out of trouble on a 14R at that age.

My Dad bought me a brand spankin new '98 CBR900RR and it was the most amazing thing anyone ever gave me. I stayed out of trouble, but that old dog is a moped comared to a 14R, anything faster and I probably would have toasted myself within a year.
