Has anyone had a lopey idle after a new exhaust? At a stop it varies around 1100-1150, but when moving it jumps around 1200-1250 (feels like it is surging more). The tach needle bounces a bit in both cases.
On a members recommendation, got a Saco racing full for a ZX14 and a PCV for a ZX14r (was less than 1,000 shipped). The system is gorgeous, header pipes are tapered and very nice and big and the can has a 2.36 inch core. It really woke the bike up, very happy with the power. The fueling feels good everywhere else.
Am using a map off the Power Commander website. The map has no corrections below 1500 but I think most maps dont.

If you notice a little 'hunting' like that it usually means a slightly lean condition in that area of the map sir.

Thanks Cblast, I 'll add a couple of percent in that area.

Added up to 30% fuel around idle in the zero, 2,5 and 10 % ranges, didn't help with the lopey idle.

Is PAIR still in the loop or disabled?

PAIR is disabled.

Remove the main [inject/spark harness] and crank sensor, go back to stock. If it cleans up = pc mapisscrap.

I had the same after I changed my exhaust to Akropovic headers. Tried all different maps and it did not change.
0 in the map Ive learnt and understand means that the PC5 will not do anything in those cells.
The tuner who installed my PCV then adjusted the "fuel" (not in AFR cells) cells in the range of 0-1500 rpm to -15. (It might not be the same setting for your bike) This then sorted it out.
I've seen some videos where they also change AFR cells in this range and it solves it too.

Does it do this after the bike has warmed up and reached operating temp?

It does it all the time, even when cold.
Have tried a few maps off the powercommander website but none of them have any adjustments for around idle.
Was wondering if Brocks maps have corrections in that area but they are only for customers who bought Brocks exhausts.

2. Did I install the pipe and now the hunt? Yes.
3. Did it hunt before the pc? Yes.

A. The bike never hunted up and down when new. Correct.
B. I installed both pipe and pc at the same time. Correct.
C. I have to put one thing on at a time so I know who hunts who does not. Correct.

You are right Hub, should of done one at a time and checked. I also put the flies back in at the same time.

Subs are not it... change of air speed does not hunt.
Pipes are not it... Uncorking air does not make the bike hunt.
PC is it... electrics makes it hunt up and down.

To confirm, reconnect to stock; test ride.

Hub is right. Did you do the tps (throttle position adjustment) first when installing pc5? Try that.

Yes i did do the TPS a couple of times to make sure the numbers stayed the same, thanks!

Mine did it before I put the PC5 on it. Only thing I had changed was the exhaust. Took cat out and changed 4-1. Pair made no difference whether blocked or not. Only after doing fuel trim did it come right.

did your bike come equipped with an O2 sensor? was it removed ? win installing new system?

No O2 sensor. It started with the new exhaust and PCV.
The idle lopeing seems to be affected by the bike moving or not, worse at a stop.
I commute over 200 miles a day on it, now, twice today at two stops the idle was perfect, makes me think of a bad connection. Will have to take it apart and reconnect the connectors and ground!

I assume both far left columns in the vertical are empty. Yes...(and no).
So now with that in the assumption, she twice idles clean.
1. Connectors? No = Won't start
2. Take it all apart? No, I think you found it.
3. Find a better pc ground. Yes, and not under the water bag if [instructions] suggested there.

Hi Hub, The far left column are all zeros, the second column are zeros till about 3,000. The ground wire came out at the lug for the battery, I attached it there. I heard all the connectors click, maybe the PCV itself has an intermittent problem too.

It seems that when it is hot out, bike is warmed up and at a standstill, it idles at about 1100 and smooth. When cold or anything past 5 mph and the idle hunts around 12-1400, kind of bucking, any gear including neutral. Had it in neutral at a standstill on a hill , let the brakes off and when it hit 5 it hunted, slowed back before 5 and was smooth.
That doesn't seem like the pipe or the PCV. Maybe it has been like that since new and didn't notice because it was so quiet and still getting used to it, it has been only two months now but over 6,000 miles.

Ok when cold, and until bike hits normal operating temp about 140 or so it will hunt and bounce arourd from 1000 to abut 1500 rpm. Once it reaches that temp should settle down about 1100. Is this a European spec bike? California model, 49 state model? ??.....next thing to try is run a zero or stock map. See if problem is the same? Pretty sure the problem is in the map your using. You may actually have to have a custom dyno tune done to fix the mapping? ??
Also try blipping the throttle and see if it settles back down.
