Brock's Updated Headers
11/08/11 7:05 AM

Ok got this off a different forum but wanted to make sure that everyone who was getting a new 14R knew that there was going to be a newer header pipe made from Brock's. The old ones will fit but obviously the new ones will fit & flow better.
"All commented on the sound of the new AH2… the additional pipe volume for our dual filament exhaust packing produces a smoother tone and the full through diameter lets the new beast breath. Redesigned headpipes not only match the revised exhaust ports, they install easier.

Allowances were made to push the radiator away from the pipe to allow for #4 pipe clearance and additional fan near cylinders 1 and 2.

The new production version will be available in 10 days to 2 weeks. We are going to do what we always do with all new bikes, a short production run. If you want to be one of the first to have one, Call to place your name on the list; they won’t be on our site for a little while longer 937-912-0054."

I called and got on the list but cant decide if I want the 20" Carbon fiber or the 20" titanium... What will look better with Black? Keep in mind I already picked up Sliver Vortex rearsets, silver Rizoma fuel canisters, Silver Pazzos with black adjusters, Black bar risers with silver caps.... Obviously I am going for the Black & silver look... but will the CF look good or stick with black & silver?

Not sure why Brocks pipes have to have that #4 pipe stick out. Looking at my Yosh pipe and all pipes go straight down the same angle looks like plenty of room for another fan.

If you look at tuned headers for cars, you will find the answer to your question.

Brock Davidson made sure the runner lengths (spigot to collector) were as close to equal for all four cylinders as possible.

Its a technique that has been used since multi-cylinder internal combustion engines were first introduced, almost.

Hey, Priv, remember the wrecking crew of the board tracks? Go take a look a few photos. Who is holding the trophy? No pipe in front, but one tiny one in the back. We don't need no stink'inn pipe is me max HP.

Speedeeventhe quicker pick her up her blouse, I'm running for prez. But no, know won listens to turdull... Yawn. Who said he was too WEE Z?

What is it now... Do we rebend #4 pipe for the R has the oil jet plumbing on the outside? Bend a light is bend one pipe out of the way too?

Don't know if anyone has already posted pics of the new headers? Can't see pics sometimes on the internet here in A'stan, our internet here sucks... If not, is there anywhere that we can see pics?

It's really too bad that their customer service/tech reps can't just tell a prospective buyer "yes, the pipe sizes are this or that"...you know.I won't buy anything from Muzzy's OR Brocks ever again.I think it's unprofessional to treat customers this way.Like Brocks and Muzzy DON'T KNOW what size of outlets and inlets the new pipes are from the factory.Gimme a break. It's insulting when you're considering buying an expensive system and just want some peace of mind about fitment. They won't be getting anything from me...I mean...shit man...what's the big secret? You like their pipes or you don't.If they're that uninformed about fitment...I don't EVEN trust their performance 'results'.Like none of these guys talk to each other?Get information from each other?C'mon .

Look at that guy on the dyno...on the SE...you think HE doesn't know what size his system is on there? You can bet he's probably discussed pipe sizes and HP figures with his friends there...if only to find out what a larger or smaller diameter pipe would do.Even if it IS factory setup....these others KNOW what they need to retool right now.The 14R motorcycle has been here in the US for at least 3 months. These guys just sat on their arses 'guessing' what they needed to do for the new exhaust?I don't THINK so.

Must be one o'those 'If we told ya,we'd have to kill ya' type things,eh?

To top it all off...they show a phoney pic with a photoshopped bike....advertising "fits 2thousand whatever-2012".And they don't know what size their midpipe connection is?Talk about 'shady'.WAAAAAY slim shady.I never liked the style of their pipes anyway!

Except of course...on someone else's bike (J/K bigwillie and you others...I DO like the style of the CT Duals). But that's it.

You crack me up, Grn. 'We enlarged thexhaust portsally!' We enlarged our pipes to accommodate, tootsea. Sea of new bikes and you want someone on the other end to know every brandiameter? That is like saying; the dealer should have your part on your 10 year old bike is sit on that inventory for 10 ears is an ear full... Just in case one didn't work, Y you, you got it?!

Now, you badmouth the brand for a diameter? Let Rob and Brock's dingle dangle in public? Hey, did you see the taper on that stocker? No cigar can anymore. It has the big profile looking outer megaphone line; with the plumbing filling inside.

SLIM SHADY SLIM SHADY!!!!!!!!!! Actually,I didn't ask either one of em about 'every pipe diameter'.I asked each one of em...'Dear sirs...can you please tell me the collector outlet pipe diameter on the new zx14R'.....I get it that the header is now larger.Kawasaki's own words...."Tapering down to a catalyzer for meeting strict EURO III standards."....close enough quote anyway.Tapering down means....tapering down. They don't stay at 2.50 at the head all the way back.(or whatever they are at the head).Point is...ya....How hard is it for them to say...'well,we found the collector outlet remained the same as the previous 2011's' or whatever.Sheesh.They KNOW whether it did or didn't.I'm glad somebody else here sees this as WRONG!!!!! If I was gonna spent umpteen bucks on their system, you'd think they could at least tell ya what's what.

I've gone with Vance and Hines myself.I've had much better personal e-mails from them. What gets me....you ask a SIMPLE question ya know?...SIMPLE.You get some convoluted response about something you didn't even ask about, and they say something like..."I hope that answered your question".WTF

Maybe I should have tricked em...you know...asked em if my C-14 2009 model collector/midpipe gasket will fit with their new slip-ons for the zx14R.Hmmmmmm.....now there's a thought

No, I'll give you the wtf. WTF why don't you wait for the parts to come on line once a dealer is sent the word, go look up your shop manual part number and oh deer, that is one flat pipe on the other side. Some fawn come out of the woods and center punch me pipe?

Pop-pop-fizz-fizz, oh WOT a relief it is > say it wit me < AMB > And now I don't see you tooling up, dyno'ing up; going into business and pee scent a product that weighs like shit (literally, pick a dog); no fit and finish problem; no problem about some blem you don't like here comes another; and now down comes the zipper and you pee all over Brock?

The fuck?

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaa, I'm going to blame someone [who] doesn't have my ant swear up and down I need to point to someone. Brand new bike and now they have all the answers over the phone? You know the port is bigger. You know the cat is smaller. You know the gasket just might be the same... WOTar and feather the odds.

And another thing; Remember some fairing maker that was shown his own door as the GL1000 took on a fairing of its own? And now, here comes a pipe with a lot of R&D and if you think I'm trading off those internals for lower grunt and Brock makes pipe specific for the opposite end and you keep demanding something he could care less about is here is a race pipe hello? Light, loud, too much for you?

I'm not selling Brock'shit. I'm trying to justify you asking a question that a bike might not even be there. It may be the bike is there and now there needs to be some tooling up, oh I have an R for a bRock my world, it's a new pipe and has all the expanded goodies too.

You have, "I hope this answers your question we don't have a bike but I can't say that. Will there be anything else?" Yeah, I want to justifyourside. Help me here.

And just for the record. We here at the roundtable, we hear less carbon is show me. That is from one tuneup guy to one tuner we be going to qualifying school is some deep theory some would pay to watch. I clocked Ivan and 48 other websites all in the qualifying mode.

Advertizing is eye candy. You don't get the same hamburger on TV now, do you? Well, if Kawi can advertize and have you wait for some month the dealers cry for... FuckQ get a clue roundie. Your bike comes when it comes. Might as well call everyone sneaky then.

YOu need to show me where it claims it fits. If word of mouth is all you got... I got the same old game for you. I buy the product outright to see who is talking shit and who is blowing smoke. There are only 2 mid pipe gasket years. There are the same exhaust pipe gaskets for any year. How many years was I on top of that exhaust gasket(s)?

Now, I swap bikes out and remain current so there is no one I need to call is do a little parts chasing on line. You are being too impatient and I keep telling you to wait. That squish pipe is moved over for some reason but you won't listen to turtle.

One, you are calling my stock pipes out for a lane is what you are saying. Look at that cone is me megaphone. I know there are trumpet tips at the ends of those tunneling pipes. Look at me cat wafer. It is more a little glow plug now on its own. Pipe is going to crackle all new. You'll love that sound, blue.

You'll be bent all over cleaning that bike. I come in and it's like I'm looking at you face to face.

"One, you are calling my stock pipes out for a lane is what you are saying"...no,I'm not.I'm ONLY going with the other pipes for the weight reduction. That's all.Not sound,or increased performance.I would like to remove that cat though...cut that out and reweld the piping right there.Shouldn't be TOO difficult I would think.I've got an excellent welder friend who I know could do it for me.

Wow talk about some angry mother fuckers. In every industry there are scumbags who STEAL designs and other people's hard work and research so they can line their own pockets.... Unless I am mistaken many of the old pipes will fit so we already do know the size. I for one have no problem waiting (within reason) to get the best performing product especially if it is the same exact price.... It's not like my bike is sitting in the garage and can't use it because it does not have a pipe.... I honestly dont understand getting upset because they are not posting pictures of their designs.

I don't want any pictures.Just an od of the new collector outlet I aint worried or pissed either.I already got my pipes from who I wanted .

I'll say it like this....You are the owner of a big azz exhaust company.A prospective customer contacts you and asks about fitment. He's determining whether he's gonna buy YOUR product,or someone else's.He asks a specific simple question. You hedge and offer a different option...instead of answering his question.A simple"I really can't say ...I haven't had a prototype here yet to measure the pipe in question".This would be a fine way to instill trust in the customer, and possibly seal a future sale.Instead..the possible customer now feels like he's wasted his time, and the "expert"(YOU) don't even realize you've just soured a deal.Too busy I guess making pictures

I'm not angry.I just feel I wasted my time. And if he doesn't know the diameter...he's a friggin idiot!

Again, you are asking if the R's clutch will fit the old bike, oh look, it looks like a connie lookalike! Wellup my eyes, I think I'll call Broke's employee and ask if the gears are straight cut or connie callect:

Blu: Bee Rocks! How can I helpiss me?
Grn: Yeah, I...

Blu: Oh no, snot nose you again. What now, Sniveler?
Grn: I want to complain about the cuss toe meer smear campaign.

Blu: What is that on your lips? Have you been sucking up and bought another brand?
Grn: How did you know?

Blu: Bye the question. I shit here on the phone all day. I know a sale or two.
Grn: Well, you sailed by my question right quick.

Blu: And did you buy another brand dare, slick?
Grn: Hey, is Broke there? Tell'em to suck my dick!

Hub - you are hilarious at times... I just got up from the floor from laughing so hard at your post...

But I can kinda' understand the frustration at calling a company for information and they don't have a system in place for their customer service reps to get the info... Mostly ALL major brands have datebases of their products so that Reps CAN answer questions.. Do you think that when you call DELL or Autozone, that the rep actually knows every part and product that they have for sale? HELL no, they just look it up and read you what's in the Dbase.... I know Brock's isn't a multi-billion $$ company like Dell or Autozone, but then again it doesn't take that much to provide good customer service. And for some people, those little things will make the difference between a purchase or them just walking away entirely. Me on the other hand, I might be a little annoyed, but if it's the best product out there, I'm still buyin' - I'll do my own research...

Brock took a look and said, yep, the old pipe fits, but lets match some port diameter and raise the bar of my own pipe, I could have been SHADY said nothing and not waste so much tool up. If you want the old stock sleevedown, here you go. If you want advanced R&D so the quality still fits with finish, sign up for a limited run. Where is the deal about being shady? Sounds like he was on top of the bike to me?

Why make it easy for others to find out that O/D ~ I/D? How would you like to be in Brock'shoes. YOu have the jump on the competition as Brock was at the Fla intro? Any other pipe manu show up there too? Oh, so the who you know is someone didn't show and now blame Brock for a simple business move no matter the circumstances? After all, it was an invite. He is no dealer principal, correct? That was mother teapot's decision who comes to the intro. Press, dealer, manu's, etc.

Won't give the guy any slack, right? NOt his doing. More like a smart business move to me. Keep my mouth shut about size IS!
