it's sad but I agree with both badinblack and Romans, the only way to make sure is to boost it! Your friend will say you cheated but who cares? lol

I own 3 bikes, and plan to get a dual sport as well, so with my limited riding time it'll literally take me the rest of my life to wear the bikes out I have now. The only reason I would need to buy another would be sheer boredom......and honestly I don't see myself getting bored with my current crop of bikes for a VERY long time. If a person plans on keeping a bike for a long time, or has the funds to spend regardless, I HIGHLY recommend boosting your hyperbike, they're worth every penny/time/effort spent and then some

So how much is the turbo kit ??? And how much boost will my stock engine handle and I mean everything down to the fuel system cause I'm not changing anything else , an I noticed someone made a comment about break in miles .....I am well aware it's 1000 in the book but don't tell me the engine in not broke in at 400 miles with easy riding running through the Rpms and heat cycling the motor several times . In brocks video that bike only has 60 miles and he's pulling it to redline

So if the goal is to win the race why let them pick the gear to start in. He knows where his sweet spot is and so do you.
If you pick your sweet spot, then you get to dictate the out come.

Glad to see you here Lee.You might not know me but I follow your posts on Bikeland.I read your entire instructional on dragracing 101.I haven't got a chance to try it out.10 and the 14 are so different.Like a high revving small block with gears and a stock big block with high gears dragracing.Small block wins.I know I had a 68 GTX 440 with high gears.Sure it would go 160 but it was sluggish off the line with the automatic.

"" 84lbs ???? That begs the Question how ? Math does not add up to 84 lbs.""
6 gallons of fuel 42 pounds .. 2 gallons = 14 pounds ... - 32 pounds off for the CT exhaust swap ..
9 pounds from the battery swap .. That is a total of 69 pound weight loss ..Now add in mirrors, mud flap and rear pegs and a few other bits you are down to 500 pounds ..
Thank You Smokin!....and yepper Romes...I did remove those little goodies there.500 lbs....except the mirrors...kept those

i know the purpose of the 14r and the comfort compared to the 10r and i know that if i raced my new 14r stock for stock against the 10r i would walk him easily , when i modded my 06 zx14 i went from 168rwhp to 183rwhp and since i race the same buddies always i can safely say i picked up 5-7 bikes from the extra hp and my new 14r stock is as fast as my modded 06 zx14 and has waaaaaay more mid range and is very smooth and tight. i love the bike and my friend who has owned a 06 zx14 and a 2011 zx14 said he liked everything about it when he rode my new one, it is an awesome bike and the story has only begun on these beasts :)
of course the stock 10r is down 20hp compared to the stock 14r so there is the weight difference cancelled out, you need 15-20whp more to compete with the 10r , the 10r is a stripped down race bike with a state of the art engine , the 14r is a cadilac with a luggage rack with a state of the art motor

Sport Touring ?
Not just sport touring... SPORT touring.
Hitting the road and not knowing when, or even if, you're going to be home. Picking a direction instead of a destination. Coming across that perfect stretch to pin the throttle WFO... Stumbling upon that set of twisties that you gotta wonder if anyone else even knows about. Turning around to ride those roads one more time (or not)... Having no idea when, or if, you'll ever be back there again... That's what I'm going to miss about my zx14 most.

Nope, it's the torque lol. You will have a New one in a couple. The pull will call to you. Just Say'in
We be cut from same cloth... Once new drag strip is done, it will be tough to resist the call... but until then, riding 190hp CBR on a road course... just whispers.

dogozx please tell me how you think in a street race the new ten beats the new 14. I want to hear this.Even brock on his site when he was finished with the 10 he barely hit 200hp with race fuel in the 10. With the 14 he hit 227hp. So am i crazy but your telling me with the SAME SIZE SAME SKILL riders with BOTH bikes modded, that the ten over comes 27hp and 40 something tq.Please explain???

I'd like to try this one if you don't mind. Even with the lesser horsepower the 10R still has a superior power/weight ratio vs the 14R. Simple math so I won't bore you with the details on that one. You mentioned street race so let's use that example. I believe it's safe to assume that both bikes will have enough horsepower and/or torque to overcome the available traction off the line on an unprepared surface like the street. Since this is the case both bikes will basically have to accelerate the same until the available traction lets the bikes use all their power so with same size and same skill riders one can assume that they will be side by side until that time. At that point the superior power/weight ratio of the 10R will start to pull away from the 14R until such time as the aerodynamic drag starts to take over and then the 14R will start to pull back on the 14R and eventually pass it. You cannot fight physics. A superior power/weight ratio will out accelerate an inferior power/weight ratio until aerodynamic drag factors into the contest. Unless this street race is a race to top speed and then holds top speed for a mile or so, the 10R will remain out front for any distance that one would typically race to, i.e. a 1/4 of a mile. Does that logic work??? BTW, I street raced heavily for about 20 years and I can assure you the little lightweight riders/bikes/combinations were devastatingly effective in a drag race on the street. No one I've heard be associated with races to top speed on the street. The 14R with it's superior horsepower and top speed potential will win that one because power/weight has little effect on top speed. Power/weight has a big impact on acceleration however and I can only assume you're referring to a drag race and not a top speed race. If you're referring to a top speed race, forgive me.

You guys are smokin crack,i have been to the track and PLENTY of street races, and the new 14 wins sorry see it all the time at the track and the street. Hell i have beaten my friend on his bmw 1000r on my new 14 with equal mods and all, with my torque he said i pulled instanly 2 bikes and he said i slowy pulled another 2-3 bikes up top to about 170. You guys are probly heavy guys trying to race lightweights. I weigh 163,so i always kill the 1000's. You guys have NO idea about the new 14,or like i said you are all chubby riders.

i am not chubby lol , but i do weigh 230lbs. , have been in a gym for 10 years now , i agree with you 100% and my 180lb. friend has been begging me to race the 10r on my bike. 50lbs. could very well even it up or get pretty close. the fact is that i am going to mod my bike in a couple weeks and the guy that owns the 10r does not plan on spending any more money on his, so i hope i can add enough power to offset the weight because i like to race my own bike :) , also all the suzuki guys are wanting a piece of me now as well lol , i have yet to race a modded busa on my new 14r but i can assume that just the way it sets should walk them easy since they are equally as heavy as my bike and make similar power to my bike stock even if they have a full exhaust and good mapping, right ????????
