I enjoy riding in the rain for the spiritual solitude and the connection to Mother Earth. I am not crazy about the cleaning afterward!

I rode in an August torrential down pour with hail and ice on the road. I stayed in Full Trac OFF FOFF and was a ok. I still think good tires and a responsive throttle hand is all one needs to cut through the elements!

It is six degrees and I am suiting up for work. Man! The season has changed direction and I am feeling that gloom on the horizon when the bike must be packed away. A sad day that will be!
For now I cling to every small moment of rideable weather, ignore the custard and crimson leaves and push ahead! Tires 42 - 42 - Road three's ready and liners zipped into jackets. I've defogged my visor and I have pushed forward through the fog. My season glove with warm fleece inserts are ready for battle. Once again the cold winter shall exhale on the land, telecasting it's arrival like the left handed knock out punch. Enjoy what remains boys!

but how many of you can't get the image of a dirty bike out of your head and will go sleepless into 2am thinking bout her caked in mud. I don't know about you but my last thought before going to bed is my kids and bike and I awake with the same thoughts. God help us, warrior of plexus, blue ice, trox, mothers, and Fibre cloths liter my garage. Yet she glisens and I yurn to ride, and dred the post event clean.

If I park Priscilla after a ride and she is wet or dirty. No rest can happen. I can't even leave the garage. I clean her after hanging my jacket. I hang th jacket so that my patch is never covered. Then I start to clean immediately. I return her to a flawless state. Only then can I set foot in my house. Drives my woman bonkers when we have something to do and I clean first. But hey. That is Priscilla and I. I take care of her to the absolute maximum of my ability. She takes care of me to the maximum of her's when we are at speed. We are welded.

I never cover my patch either, never!

I feel like this bike has given me nine lives. I bank left enter the lip of concrete and ride the sidewalk to avoid a woman who experiences a stroke and nearly kills me. Head on I almost become hood ornamentation! I wiggle out the rear tire on my R1 at 260 and loose the back to a white knuckle rear lock up. I wait for the tire to pop, bike to slide out as I enter a wild chicken dance with the handle bars. On an empty "express"way I loft the front wheel in the air and drift toward the guardrail and rock littered shoulder on a hot humid Toronto day! Did I just die, and continue my next life in the next dimension of this nexus reality Einstein sought to explain and theoretically construct. In the alternate span of these realities left, are there burials in which my friends go to pay their last respects. Or is this, as life is, only a projection of what the eye can see, a 3 dimensional projection of brain to sensation while I lay still in a coma? The light shall one day dim, but I have six lives left. I hope you use\used yours well!

I think our sensory inputs are way more disappointing since Priscilla and I wed. If I am experiencing things at normal speed 'off', the bike, I find my mind constantly wandering to Priscilla, wondering if she is okay, wondering if she has enough chain lube, if her oil is fresh enough, if she likes the taste of shell 92. Then the wife says 'whatcha thinkin about?'. 'Ahhh, just bikes...'

My breast friend asked me, 'WATTcha think'inn about?'

Something magical happens when you lose the physical input awareness and the bike just drives itself, with minimal fore planning and thought from it's operator! Bike and man, meld into one. Exactly! That line broke me up, sir. I do the very same thing. Have a bottle of cleaner-wax/detailer sitting at hand at all times in garage!

Okay, now you at hitting on IT, here Wolfman. That's the crux. You are now at the point where you feel WELDED to the machine see! Do you see a little now why I go off on these frickin 'I am Darth.Torque!', type tangents?? It's that weld of mind to machine. I have felt at ONE with Priscilla since I got her set-up and flashed. Like think-do occur almost simultaneously. Priscilla feels HARD WIRED to my cerebral cortex. She crests her power peak and the dance turns from balletic to frenetic and she simply rises to the occasion. She is me. I am her. Wolf is Veridis. Veridis is Wolf. I could not ever give up this bike. I will acquire and own and ride more bikes. Of that I am certain. But Priscilla is my heart, my mind, my style. After a certain level of proficiency is attained with the rider, it begins to break down to style and what the rider likes as far as lean angles and off corner drive. You can be graceful and smooth or aggressive and wild...

Paul my man! It is funny cause it is just one of them things that women don't get! They can spend 45 minutes in the bathroom workin on a result I can't find with a 'scope', and yet we spend 10 minutes on polishing quantifiable perfection and WE get the eye roll....?????

Hey C let me be the devil's advocate here....... it's just a motorcycle, a great one but never the less a motorcycle. You guys talk about it like it's your god like idol, or more important than anything in the world to you. You guys need a break from your bikes and this site for awhile I think and reconnect with your family and real life out there. Hell you guys could make some people uneasy how you talk about a friggin machine. It's a nice bike that's it, a $14000 bike plain and simple. Now you guys are going off talkin about buying a compound where you all could live when you hit the lottery........jesus man you guys need to relax a little I think no?????? It's a bike anyone with a lil credit can buy, less than almost any car out there, I would hate to see if you guys bought something REALLY nice like a lambo or something. Hell I keep my bike in real nice shape but hell how you guys talk sometimes you really need to snap back to reality a lil. Ride her hard and put her away wet every once in awhile is all i'm saying. I could see if it was a limited ed. bike like a BMW HP4 that has only a few thousand made but again it's only a BIKE. Talkin about mind to machince,and hard wired to your cortex, give it a rest C your losing it just a little I think.

As always racer your insights are refreshing, but they just don't jive with me! The differences in conceptualizing a machine as organic, material are surface level connections we all have. C and I are talking about the metaphysics, we both are goal oriented and focused riders. Each time we go out we want to be better and let's face it many times I sit on some limits. The bike delivers me to the classroom and without the bike, we would not be there. I would never explore a BMW. That is candy floss to a guy my size. This bike is it for me, done!!!

If you noticed, thank you if you did, Street Warrior posts are all philosophical and explore the influential connection between man and motorcycle. This thread is intended to be more thought provocative about man's connection to the motorcycle than anything concrete. There are other posts for literal tips and feed back reports. It is a zen and the art of the moto, meets zx14. That was the directional vision for my writing. I wanted to evoke, provoke and stir discussion. Not answer to folks who read it literally. By now I hope you understand that my second pleasure beyond riding a moto is writing. I could spend all day doing it, but two kids, a small business and a full time job must come first. If the writing here is good a simple tanks or post would be appreciated. If the writing sucks, stick to the other threads. I currently do not have reader's or coles's notes to send yah brehtren.

As always thanks for stirring reflective discussion. I don't think anyone here is intimidated or frightened away by the writing. Perhaps a relecting glass discussion may be warranted zx if you feel that way bruz!

Again I stand by my remarks and by your three paragraph zen response I feel I was still dead on, that's why on most of these crazy threads out of the 100 or so people that post on this site only you and C and nasty do all the talkin, most people like me read this shit and just scratch their head and say OK. But unlike most I just say what is on my mind. Not hating or anything just saying what I see and think, nothing more nothing less. I'm sure someday when you guys get your family compound built you guys will have a ball!!!!!!!
