Dyno Charts Slip Dyno Chart Akrapovic Header Install
08/08/13 5:30 AM

First I have to clearly state that there are two magicians here. First Romans (very talented with performance mods and a hell of a rider), and his work on my ECU and second a very talented tuner, mechanic and race captain, Mitch at Frankenstein Power Cycles on Rogers Road. Both gentleman have been very generous with their time, and have gone far above and beyond the call of duty to create this...

A special thanks to Mitch, whom I would without hesitation trust with my bike, and look forward to seeing again in the fall to mount the extended swing arm.

So, I will enjoy all the good discussion that will flow, but for now here are the dyno results.
I made 187 horsepower, with Yoshimura R77 slips
I made 205.9 horsepower once the Akrapovic Headers, PC5 and dyno-tune was complete by Mitch at Frankenstein

Here are the stats...

If not for Cblast, Omega, Romans and my boy Beast, and a wagon load of posts read on this site, I might have gone the wrong path. Thanks to Harry, Mitch, Romans, Beast, Omega and Big C!

Very nice. Hopefully he remembered to take the ram air into consideration. Now have Romans copy the PC5 tune into the ECU and ditch the PC5.

Great chart wolf!! Now I can tell the first run was done with no ecu flash and the flies in. And the rest was the magic of romans ecu flash. As brocks and ivans had found out last year the 14r is the first bike that kills the power by over 20hp throughout the range in which they now call it going into safety mode. Thats why you see a over 20hp difference in the new chart's in the mid range. Romans definitely gave you a good flash. As we know, no exhaust gives over stock gives 20hp+ it's the dam ecu that holds you back. And they found this safety mode on the dyno. That's why you really need a flash or remove the flies. It's funny wolf I was talking on the phone yesterday for almost an hour with cblast about this an other things. Anyway your bikes chart looks AMAZING and from my years around bikes and dynos I can say that your chart is very realistic and not happy at all, you my friend have a great strong bike. Enjoy it and be safe out there with that monster! !!!!!!

Yeah beast the midrange is always there, its the safety mode that the bikes goes into. Go to brocks site and check out the free videos he has on it. Basically when on the street and you are in 2nd or 3rd gear and you go to punch the throttle hard for lets say a roll on race, there is a huge chance you will go into this safety mode. Check out the videos its crazy. Before they found this mode they talked about rickey gadsen running down the track and it looked great but his numbers where slow as shit. Thats how they found it. Again the video explains it very well. When I was on crapland forums you can look up my old threads last year about me racing older 1000s and I would kill them like I should and then we go and race again and I couldn't walk away from them. People on that forum called me an idiot and I couldn't ride, then this came out and I was justified. So I felt it, thats why my flies are gone. I love to hit it in 2nd and 3rd gear. Couldn't take the chance of losing 25hp for no reason. Either way watch out wolf looks to be the new BEAST!!!!!!!

Hey brothers, put new tires on her, so I am taking it easy. That said let her out a bit yesterday, you can hear and feel quite a difference! Just noted the rpm needle climbs way faster and the bike feels like it's making power throughout the rev range. I'm 240 so Beast weighing 180 is still going to have an advantage, but at least this way I can keep up!

I will be very careful to go fast (quote from Rook!)

Alright my man! I have been going over those dyno sheets fer a bit now! Looks like you got a FLAWLESS tune! Notice how the ram air effect and the safety mode were both immediately brought up?! Those were also thoughts in my head, but that safety mode has been flashed out of the way obviously, and if you look very closely at ur chart, it almost appears thatbon the 20th and final run it is runnin about 12.8:1 on the dyno! THAT SIR IS AWESOME! At speed in the real world as you ACCELERATE and move along at speed the ram air effect is essentially stuffing in so much extra air that an experienced tuner knows all this and sets ya up a bit rich. That way under load and at speed ur bike is making MAX power. Your dyno chart displays not only knowledge of All of that, but also accurate correction factor and fuckin BEAUTIFUL Air:Fuel line with no bad dips or spikes or wierd spots!!!
That has got to be one of the strongest runnin R's I have ever seen!!! And the fuckin crazy thing is wolf, that your tuner gave you an awesome tune with a HUGE #, and that's WITH a flawless A:F ratio all the way! Sometimes I'll see a tuner tune a bike a little lean so it posts a bigger #. Fer example, I bet that bike could have posted a 207-208 with a slightly leaner a:f, but it would have fucked ya in the real world, too lean with ram air. THAT TUNE RIGHT THERE LOOKS AWESOME BUD!! Fuckin PERFECT! I am jealous as shite!!!!

Dude, I can't stop looking at your charts!! That looks like a fing Cblast tune right there! Who is this guy Frankenstein?? Whomever he is, buy that man a fing beer dude! Do you see from the different runs what he was doing?? I do! Okay! That top chart with all the overlays is awesome! You see how as he goes along that midrange line representing ur a:f gets deeper and at the spots where he added fuel to smooth out that little dip, it all becomes a nice arc. He found the sweet spot, then he worked that sweet spot till he found ur happy place. The little tricks he played working that map, adding a point here and taking a point away there, that all goes to ensuring as you ride In the real world, your bike always feels smooth and powerful and creamy torquey! The work he did getting that map right in the LOW end is what built you that high solid HP number in the end too man! Can't get a bike tuned right if the low end won't clean up. It is the low throttle openings and low rpm ranges that give most tuners trouble, then they struggle to get the top end right. UR TUNE LOOKS FUCKIN FLAWLESS!!!!

Mitch at Frankenstein, his info is on the tune sheet!

He is a fling master. A MASTER!!!

Neat thing also about him is he takes the time to teach you and educate you about charts, the process and how to go faster. Wish I met him in high school...Whaaaa! Awesome guy!

Racer the ecu flash was already set up, with dino run 1. Romes knew I was going in for a dyno tune, so he wanted it tuned with the flash in the bike. So the 187 was made with Yosh slips and ecu flash. The Dyno tune came after and achieved the 205.9. Both men magic. Like I said both brilliant guys and I owe em a lot!

Really wolf I definitely believe you but I have NEVER seen a 25hp gain or has anyone I believe going from slipons to a full header. Actually don't think its possible for a stock bike to the best full system out there that anyone ever gained 25hp at 6500 rpms. Something doesn't fit. It's something in your ecu or you found magical headers!!!!!! Either way WHO CARES your bike looks amazing now and all that other shit really doesn't matter. All I know is I spent over $3000 on brocks system and I don't have anything on your bike that's for dam sure. I'm happy for big guy have fun on that monster! !!!!

RE: Dyno Charts

The more I look at your charts it screams ecu. Its EXACTLY the same chart on brocks site going from saftey mode in the ecu to regular mode. Now look at all the dyno charts from brocks to akra to muzzy and top exhaust companies their gains mostly come in above 7000 and about 11-12hp more up top. This is going from stock to full system mind you. And no exhaust is gaining 25hp mid range on the market ever. Again don't know what to tell you what happened unless your bike still goes into safety mode on some runs. Which makes sense because I dont know if romans knows how to code that out. It's one thing to have it open the flies early and open up the top end with extra rpms but another to figure out how to get rid of the safety mode. Hell it took brocks/guhls/ivans awhile for them to even figure it out. Again who cares your bike looks PERFECT now I wouldn't touch a thing........unless that safety mode is still in there but romans needs to answer that. But its an interesting find when reading your dyno charts. Again wolf you brought another great thread to this forum to discuss. ..........THANKS!!!!!

Confirming
Baseline Run ECU flash + Yosh slips
Result
187
Then
Add akra, add pc5 plus 20 runs
Result
205.9
Just Magic!

I hear ya wolf!!!! Your PEAK NUMBERS are not the problem they are right in line with all of us with full systems. Forget the peak right now, what I was interested in is the 25hp gain between 6-7 rpms that's all. Forget your talking to me I know I'm not your favorite guy in the world!!!! But what im saying is correct. Someone like hub or romans or cblast with understanding will eventually chime in I'm sure and they will see what I'm getting at. I hope you don't think I'm going after your charts, I just am thinking out loud that something is not kosher with that gain. Hell the torque curve itself its nuts. I have never seen torque jump that much from an exhaust ever. That is jumping up like it was a built engine. Again I think your bike still has the safety mode in it and I think once romans sees this thread he'll understand exactly where I'm coming from. My god I just looked at your torque chart again after writing this. Look at your tq chart at 6000 rpms. That is DEFINITELY safety mode on your first run. 25hp+ on torque is impossible. A well built engine from the top builders and I mean at built engine will be lucky to gain 25tq over a pied and tuned STOCK ENGINE. Big man PM me and I'll give you my cell number if you want. I can explain it better to you. It would be nice to talk to the big bad wolf!!!!!!!!! If it's to expensive talking between are countries I guess we can just have fun bullshiting here!!

Hey zx.
First I have no concerns or problems with you or your input. So please do not take my response as a negative. I just want to rep the data correctly. By stating Romes and C or Hub will understand makes me feel like you think I'm an idiot. Which I am not.

I just wanted to make sure the info posted was correct. Don't want to start a war, beat my chest or solicit business. Just wanted you guys to know how the experiment went and the great men that made it possible.

Warm Regards dear boy!
W

Ok my final proof of safety mode is this. At most of the low to mid range you have a almost 25hp advantage. Then at the top you are down to 9hp. On all the safety mode charts out there it's the samething to a tee. The safety mode cinally opens the flies all the way up again at around 8000rpms or so. Hence losing the 25 gain down to 9. You still need to get that dam safety mode out of there because it's a bitch when it kicks in........believe me I know.

Hey wolf got me ALL WRONG. What I meant by bringing them into it eas I know you really take my info with some doubt that's all. And I know for a fact that if hub or cblast brought this up you would be open ears, that's all I meant. Listen wolf I dig ya your a good dude, I don't really type that much anymore here. But when I do its because the shit I know......I really know. And at the end of the day I want your bike to be the best it can be for the m9ney your putting out for it. What I have stated here is 100% correct and it should be addressed or it WILL go back I to safety mode again and again like it did on its first run. And when it's does you see how much power down low your losing.
