Like I said, and yannih is going to take it all back, but you can never doubt The Doctor.

Sorry Hub, but I do nothing of the sort!

Rossi is a Champion that keeps on competing, but only got himself a distant 3rd place podium position solely due to other riders in front of him failing to finish.
And if you have to rely on your competition making mistakes for results you are no where.

As I said previously, Rossi will not win another MotoGP race in his career unless there is substantial rider attrition.
He cannot win with a full field finishing as he is simply no longer fast enough.

Apart from my man Marquez now winning 3 in a row (with complete ease while everyone else pushed to the limit to catch him) one thing extra I did enjoy thoroughly was Marquez snubbing Rossi in the winners circle and the podium.
Winners are grinners.
And anyone finishing behind winners need to shut the fuck up.
Talk with results, not cowardly negative untrue media reteric.

A real shame Dovi made the error.
A tragedy Zarco did too in his home GP.

And no matter who you follow booing Marquez was a disgrace...

Really, booed again? I turned it off once the checkered came out. They booed him at Texas, they now booed him in france? What a bunch of can't see the guy is washed up and have to boo the newcomers. Now I hope MM wins every race just to wake up the reality checkers.

Lorenzo wins, Dovi 2nd, Rossi 3rd. Marquez crashed out of 2nd place and remounted to take 16th.

Well Danno, seeing as you've killed it for anyone who hasn't seen the race yet...

The only reason Rossi scored yet another 3rd place was because a faster rider in front of him failed.
You can't succeed relying on that game plan!
He is just not fast enough anymore.

You think I'm being harsh on 46 again?
As much as it pains me to say this, I actually wanted Rossi to win the Mugello GP from pole position!

But no one, and I reckon you can throw Marquez into the mix, no one could have challenged Lorenzo in this race.
He was supreme.

For MotoGP, lets hope the fuel tank mod on his Ducati is the answer for 99...

Having attended a few MotoGPs, I follow the action closely on Crash.net, which does a live text feed of the track announcers. BEIN Sports does the live broadcast if anyone has cable. ( I don't)

Re;#46; everyone has a right to their opinion. Italian fans cheered when Marquez crashed and everyone seems to have someone they love to hate. My take is these guys are out there risking life and limb to put on a good show for the spectators. Some race a bit cleaner than others, but the things they do on two wheels leave me in awe. Danilo Petrucci (cited by some as the dirtiest racer on the grid)complained when MM used him for a berm, as he is wont to do.

Years ago, someone asked Nicky Hayden about the bumpimg and paint-trading that takes place when racers are fighting for position in a MotoGP race. His reply: "That's nothing compared to what Springsteen and Parker will do to you on a Mile"

Anyone who cheers a crash is a giant asshole. Apparently the Rossi fans are as bad as anyone else's.

Strange race that didn't capture my interest.

With VR on the pole I expected an interesting competitive race, but with VR immediately slipping to 4 after the 1st turn wtf. Then after MM crashed I grew tired of watching and went to the garden to pull weeds

Well, well well. Jorge finally figured out the Ducati mystery. It was the fuel tank shape....we'll see if he continues to do well from here on out. Otherwise the whining will commence again. Marquez did a Marquez again. Fast as fuck, losing the front multiple times in practice, but , try as he might, couldn't save it in the race. But man did he stay with it. Still in the seat when it went into the gravel. I don't care what you think about Rossi, he finished on the podium AGAIN in conditions that are known to be very hard for the Yamaha. Had to use a front tire that does not work well with the bike. Saying the only reason he finishes on the podium is because others crash, well that's racing. You have to stay on to podium. Dovi mentioned watching Vale lose the front numerous times but never bailed out. All in all a entertaining race. I'm actually happy for Boregay.

Appreciate what you're saying Mad, but lets re discuss this if Rossi podiums when all the top riders finish the race.
Oh by the way, don't hold your breath on this one...

If Rossi won the title because EVERYONE crashed out of every remaining race I would still say he earned it. I would say the same about any of the other riders as well. Part of racing effectively is staying on the bike, especially when things aren't right. I'm not about to give back any of the trophies I got for finishing on the podium because one of my rivals fell down. Look at Eli Tomac in Supercross. He was the fastest rider out there for sure. Dungey won the title because Eli fell down a lot. Does that make Dungey an inferior rider? Or just smarter?

Why would you?
But thats not my point...

Did Rossi win his 9 World Championships by being smarter and staying upright while others did not?
No.
He was faster.

Being smarter will get you some of the way, but not all the way.

Life has moved on for VR. Just a fact of life, the young punks + the new bike technology has allowed new drivers to exceed VR current capabilities. Kinda like Tiger Woods

Yup, Rossi is/was fast. I was fortunate to get the rock star pass to Austin back in 2015 and have to say he was the biggest ass in the pits. Lorenzo was a close second and Rossi's pet Uchio was a pompous towel boy.

Bradley was the best for sharing his time and Abraham and his crew were very inviting. Even got an invite to Brno but couldn't make it work. (pro tip: they all smoke and like Canadian cigarettes)

Marquez was top notch and didn't hide all weekend. Open and available.

All the Brit's were top notch as well along with Dovi.

As for speed on track there was no comparison, MM was a head above the rest all weekend.

ps. I've lost 40 lbs since then. lol

1st post I said: "Lorenzo if he can steer it."
He say, ye say, or say I'm trying to wrap my head around this, but it took a tank extension [looks like] for 99 to win one? And now pole all of a sudden? Say he needed leg grip and it wasn't there having the OE tank with so many limited liters. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a year or two back the tank went from 24 to 21L, and you know if I were to save weight, I'd have the tank as small as possible.
So I'm looking at Dovi's tank and Lorenzo's sort of has the same extension. Then the press meeting says another thing where Lorenzo explains the 'team's setup' and that meant [if I'm hearing what Lorenzo said], matching bikes, sans tire choice. Now, how all of a sudden are we ignoring a year's worth of frame flex change(?), to rake, to trail, to mm height or drop, and now all of a sudden the bike works no matter the geometry setup and it hasn't slowed Dovi's changes those last few years. I don't get it. I think it's a head game Lorenzo fixated on--all this time. I'm not buying it.
Really, if you came in and said you're slipping off the bike and it took you a year and a half to find out how to solve it? Not buying that either.

1st post I also said: "Mir is someone to watch..."
Suz scooped this kid up and was considered in the pits, 'hot property' I hear. Rins and Mir have the potential to push each other faster. The underdog team for next year. Both on the wrong bike but oh well, we shall see.

I did say somewhere: "MM saves no less than 2 crashes for the season." Butt who's counting.

This is a duc track so you figure MM should settle down and collect 3rd place points. It's either a crash fest between 04 and 99, or Lorenzo figured the bike out and/or the spell is gone from the cranial back to the rectal area of butt my tanksay lot for reading down to here; I'm done.

I agree, best race I have seen that I can remember. MM looked unbeatable no matter what happened to him. I kept wondering why the other drivers could not do that? Are the bikes that different or is it mostly rider skill and determination and risk?

MM = Master Motorcyclist.
MM = Methodical Mind.
MM = Mad Man (in a cool way).
I'm almost wondering if this guy is starting another trend by sliding on the horizontal end of slowing the bike down by holding on longer. Not sure, but this guy is collecting chips on those saves with the current trend. I'm counting 3 so far. To watch MM call for a change of front tires and testing both main and backup bikes to find out? Choose an MM on the short list.

The brilliant one might have this in the bag, but the field looks too hot to tell for sure. I'm going to sit on the fence and watch it play out.

Right on the money Hub!

I have said over and over that Valentino Rossi is a Champion and he has his 9 World Championships in the bag and deserves every one of them.

But Mark Marquez has proved to be an infinitely better rider whose achievements to date are beyond compare with any rider at the same stage of career.
Yes, that includes the beloved Rossi.
Perhaps there are some who would challenge this?
To them I say ever seen Rossi pull off a save on a bike sliding on its side like Marquez does constantly?
And Marquez gains maturity after every race so what will happen when the guy starts to figures all this stuff out and gains the consistency of someone like a Rossi?

Some say the same competitor winning all the time is boring.
It matters not to me.
I want the best in the game to win.
Every time.
They have the talent and work ethic to deserve it.
(Not like this ridiculous rule in WSBK where the winner of race 1 is pushed back in the starting grid for race 2 to give others a chance).

I hope Marquez keeps winning and winning.
He is setting a new standard in the sport.

And if he stays fit he will smash every motorcycle racing record there is.

Go #93...

Freddie Spencer was known for sliding the front into turns way back when. It's one of the reasons he could break away at the first lap while the others were trying to get their tires hot.
Many photos of him leaving big darkies on the pavement from the front tire.
