Somethin just didn't look right in that one pic there.Thought those were ROCKS or something in that parking lot...THEN...I saw the SHADOWS...first thought...WTF?Floating friggin rocks?THEN it hit me....Seagulls!FUC$! I NEED my bike....

Weather looks great...I'd have that baby on a stand, drain that oil...and BACK out to get er done!Geez Seno...HOW can you NOT go nutzo with yer new Baby.I think I've decided to go with a combo of Brock's and Motorman Break-in.No redlining...but powering up through the gears and such,ya....sounds safe to me?Now 1000 miles of 'book' break-in seems a tad extreme...doesn't it?IDK.How much will bearings and all wear after the first several initial powered rides?

Ok this feels like a completely different bike! The seat is amazingly comfortable. The engine feels like there are no flys in it, traction control is seamless (kicked in twice today), and the gearbox is very smooth... No more clutch noise in neutral either. As far as the slipper goes, I did not feel it... Give me a little time. 2nd gear is brutal and the front gets very light (keep in mind I am 225ish). Took my wife out and hit triple digits down a long straight parkway wich was empty (by the beach), hit double + the speed limit and bike felt solid as a rock! Tomorrow is another day, might go out tonight for a blast again.

Hmmm. If the seat is softer/more comfortable, I wonder if it bolts on to the '07? Have to go to a dealer soon and push on a seat. That's all. Just push on the seat and leave.

Dam sweet! I'm really starting to dig those side angular howitzers exhaust canisters. Thought I hated em but I am thinking they really suit the bike. Just looks like mean business. Really like the shaper corners bodywork. To me, just has a more assertive look. How's it sound? Hope the aftermarket can give something as cool or better. Just looks like a nice place to save some serious lbs and kick ass low frequency vibes. Very cool!

The bike sounds too quiet in my opinion... 2 times today people moved infront of me unaware I was there...

Rossb- The bars lock, as far as anti theft device... Yes, it does have a key.

Going out now to ocean parkway, if your curious to see what it looks like google jones beach map... Straight, long, end empty. The best part about it is, that the state police patrol it and the major is a personal friend of mine. Did I mention that I know many of them? Well I am going to get there then hang out for a while till I know it's way clear for miles ahead. Bringing gps for accuracy!

Today I did 300 miles on it and got to say it is amazing.... The seat is awesome and handling far superior to the old bike. In addition I learnt that you CAN change power modes (full or Low) while riding and also change traction control setting (Off, 1, 2 or 3). Went to hawks Nest in upstate NY, definitely would recommend that ride to anyone local. Nice twisties, only bad thing I can say is we hit traffic on the way back....

WoHoo!!!!Awesome Seno!Excellent write ups for your new bird.Gonna be a GREAT new riding season...ya?How's those Metzler's on there.Gripping good?Showing any wear yet?(I know...it's probably too soon to tell) You may have said this already...but is the 'clunk' into first still there?

I'm thinkin with the Ktrc and slipper...tires are gonna get a needed break with this new baby.Whattaya think?

Pretty sure everyone burned up their Bridgestones(factory tires) quite quickly...I know I only got 1200 miles outta the rear on my 07.I'm hoping the NEW M5's will be the cat's meow...it WOULD be nice to have a good set of proper tires on the new bird. How about wheel weights...what are those lookin like?Clip-ons?or regular stickybacks.

Mileage...we MUST know about mileage!300 miles.Great!I'm ENVIOUS....GREEN with envy my man!How many fillups in 300 miles?

Suzuki will never be able to keep up with Kawasaki's commitment to improving the rider experience.Over the top again,as always!

I'm HAPPY for ya....very.

Does the traction control keep the front wheel down?

RE: GOT MY BIKE!!!

The metzlers feel really good. I have not pushed them too hard because it was chilly (about 45) and the bike stayed really cool 160-180 in the mountains, and 190-207 in traffic. No signs of wear on the tires but they are nicely scuffed in, once I change the exhaust there will be no more chicken strips... Filled the tank once each way running 70-90ish and 30-40ish down the shoulder in traffic ( friend I was riding with is the Highway Patrol Supervisor, so we were not worried about being pulled over). I got rid of my tires on the 07 doing burnouts, then replaced them with the pilot 2ct's... Always loved those tires. This morning when I left it was wet out and the metzlers felt planted, but in shitty conditions I'm not trying to pull wheelies... Or trying to test traction control.
What I found about the traction control is this... It's kind of smart. If you go to 5-6k and go WOT in 1st or 2nd it let's you wheelie, but if you go hard in 1st and power shift 2nd hard it brings you down kind of quickly. Only about 500 miles on the bike now but lots more to learn. I hope the weather will hold out a little longer, soon it will be time to do more wrenching. As of today, I installed the alarm, bar risers, levers, and HID's (Dogo, great advice on the digital Xentec HID's, flash to pass works great with them!). BTW, quite a bit more room up front now, not nearly as cramped and I did notice a sensor of some sort on the ram air tubes. Lastly the inner fairings covers clip in a little differently, better design.

Insurance is $10 more a month, I have not had a ticket in 20 years, married, 43, and have 3 other vehicles & home owners insurance with them also.
