I put on my side racks and Givi bags before I installed my centerstand. I added a piece of 3/4" ID heater hose over the brace that secure the side rack, same place where the hand-hold for the centerstand goes.
Just add a 1" strap and drop your muffler if it is near the bag.

I just grab the footpeg bracket and step on the centerstand tang.

x2-ish. I pull up on the passenger footpeg bracket with my right hand, while holding the left grip with my left, and with all my weight on my right foot pushing down on the centerstand step.

@extrapolator Did you ever get everything mounted the way you wanted? Was waiting for pics because I was also curious about the AluRack top case rack and the SW Motech side racks fitting together. Any update? Pics?

Squareman357 - Yes I did! ... Thanks to y'all! Got the Alu-rack + top case and side cases with their carriers all mounted up great per the instructions, no problems, very good fitment. The ZX14 fitment does indeed fit the ZX14R just right ... see pics below ... although I did put the rear fender back on, since it was my first time riding with any kind of luggage, I decided to follow the instructions to a tee ... and went on the ride mentioned. It all worked great. I kept small, miscellaneous items in the top case plus enough space to put my helmet at stops. And in the side cases was all my clothing, so each night I'd bring in my 2 cases but leave the top case on the bike - not much of value in there if somebody did make off with it. One thing I might do differently, though, is to buy the side case bag liners. I was concerned about the side cases getting scratched & beat up with them laying around in the motel rooms, since there's usually not much room in motels rooms with 3 dudes and all their stuff. I was able to avoid bumps and scratches, this time, but I think the liner bags might make it easier to just snatch those out of the side cases and leave the cases on the bike. The bag liners might reduce the storage space just a bit, but prob not much. Here are the liners if you haven't seen them: www.ebay.com/itm/311155860083 They seem nice, look good and I think they're reasonably priced. I think I just talked myself into them!

So, since I completed the install of all this the night before we left I don't have much in the way of garage pics of the side cases, but you can kinda see them in my ride report writeup here: http://zx14ninjaforum.com/messages.cfm?threadid=A56EFB6B-EE36-E767-33468F57B4E0EFBC

But here are some pics of the Alu Rack and top case:

My buds kept saying that with the side cases on I have a "fat ass" ... but I got several thumbs-up, compliments and questions / interest on the trip, and I don't recall anybody mentioning their Concours or FJR ... the big ZX wins again!

I've got the Givi Nylon liners for my V35s. I like being able to lock the racks and hard bags on the bike with the lock bolts and just pull the liners to take to the room. Now I gotta figure out if I want the top case mount or not. Good show. Glad everything came together for you.

I bought my liners when I bought my bags. They come in handy for packing and for convenience.

Tks for the pics - I see the liners do reduce the space in the cases, but I'll make 'em work. I literally had every cubic inch inside both side cases full of clothing and stuff ... but I'm a lil bit of a hoarder. If I see an 'extra' crevice not filled, I'll roll up another pair of socks or underwear or something and jam it in there! Took a lil finaglin' to get the lids closed.

Greetings everyone!
Quiet living on the ZX14R front, have not had a chance to do anything besides Saturday rides since last fall...but now planning 2 trips in the near future! Looking to check out Pike's Peak Hill Climb race (http://www.ppihc.com/) in Colorado Springs in June. Rough plan would look like San Diego to Phoenix with bike in the truck. Then ride from Phoenix to Durango for a few days, then Durango to Colorado Springs for a few days, then same route back home. Can't wait! Followed of course by the annual trip to Laguna Seca in July for World Superbikes!

Love that top case, kicking around the idea of adding it, maiiiiiiiiiinly because my favorite helmet (AGV GP TECH) wont fit into the Givi 35s. We shall see.

Also, on the Givi liner bags, love them, and really because the way they fit the bag, I think you lose VERY little room. Just my 2 cents.

Happy riding season guys and dolls!

Tim - This past Sat my C14 buddy & I rode the 2 hours from home (Gainesville FL) over to Daytona for the first day of Bike Week (just that day).

We visited the Givi tent, and Givi now makes a V56NN. 9 liters bigger than my V47 and similar styling: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-v56nn-maxia-4-top-case

Styling looks a little better than the typical dumpy looking top cases that have always been on the market.

Don't know what it looks like visually on the big ZX, though. Since my 47 holds 2 helmets, the 56 should hold them even better.

I know you like red, but if that version is too much red, here's the NT version: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-v56nt-maxia-4-56l-top-case

Sounds like you have some good rides coming up. Wish I could hit the Rockies ... so far away

Timo, if you're going to Durango, you gotta take US 550 up to Ouray. It's a major hoot! From there, continue north to Montrose and turn east towards Gunnison. That is US 50 and will take you across Monarch Pass (another hoot) to Pueblo and then slab up I-25 to Colorado Springs. The ride up Pikes Peak is also major fun.

When I ride through the City I want a Fat Ass so no one crowds me in my lane. And have a greater chance not to
be ran over.
Denver is plagued with Hit and Run accidents.

Extrapolator,

I don't have the V56NN, I got the V56NNT (clear lenses, faux-carbon top). I saw the KQR47 at Kawasaki's IMS booth, thought it was too small for me... This is where I am now:

TigerFire13: Lookin' good

Went back to Bike Week this past weekend and really looked good at the V56. The Givi guys let my buddy put it on his C14 ... I hadn't been thinkin' about it myself, thinking it'd be too big looking, but once I saw it on his bike, the add'l size appears to be only along the length of the bike, i.e. it extends more only rearward, not wider as I had assumed. So it looks good. Now ... do I need to spend 350 damn dollars to get 9 more liters of space? No I do not. Will I? Maybe. Dammit!

I finally bought the mounts and bags for my 2014 model and had twisted throttle install them while in Daytona for bike week. I love them!

Let me try this again...As you see, I was able to retain the grab rail for my center stand. I was told elsewhere that that was not possible. Thank you Bradley427 for making the exhaust bracket, I ended up needing to use it.

Well I was actually there 3/5 and 3/12. I remember the bike (yours?) was at front left of TT's tent, if you're facing the tent. Something about it caught my eye, besides it being a 14 ... maybe only 1 side case was on. Not sure now.

I really want to thank everyone who contributed to this thread. I found it extremely helpful. I did end up with the Scorpion slip-ons. I wouldn't have changed them if I didn't have to, but now I'm glad I did. I had the same side cases on my 2008 but they were on the GIVI mounting hardware, which was more secure. It's been discontinued plus it used the same mounting spot as the top rack, so I wasn't sure it would fit anyway. In hindsight I should have ordered the hard-bolt kit as I found that there was a little too much movement. The bags would actually contact the pipe if I pushed down enough. Hopefully the photos work. You can see where I added straps, and you should be able to see the clearance. Nothing moves now. It's hard to see but with a little grinding I was able to put the heel guards back under the passenger pegs. I admit it would look better without, but they will help save the pipes so I'm all for them. The V35 bag seems to fit this bike the best. The odd shape makes it hard to fully utilise all of the space though, and they aren't as durable or as watertight as the E360. I had those on My XX and they are indestructible. Mine came with the heat deflectors but I didn't use them. I also had a pleasant surprise when I found an extra tumbler set/key with the side cases, which I promptly installed in the top case. Very very happy with it all. Only the rad guard to install and some LED headlights and I'm good to go.

Marty - Lookin' good ... Ready to tour!

My side cases also came with a separate lock tumbler, which I also swapped into the top case. Very nice to have 1 key fit all 3 cases.

It rained all weekend here, so I spent quite a bit of time perusing some of the forums of other brands, looking to see if I'm missing out on something. Sure doesn't seem like it. The Ducati Multistrada looks interesting, but I don't like the beak front end and I've rarely heard anything good about Duc reliability, and it's a fortune. The BMW S1000XR looks pretty cool (although still with the beak) and has some great features (cruise control, heated grips), but it's over $20K and I read tons of posts complaining about buzzyness. And after test riding a spastic, herky-jerky snatchy-as-hell Yamaha FJ09 in Daytona a few weeks ago at Bike Week I was reminded that I still prefer a sportier, leaned-forward, wind-offsetting riding posture over the upright position of all these super adventure touring bikes coming out lately. The KTM 1290 Super Adventure has all the options one could want, except it looks, um, retarded, IMO. And they're still putting chains on most (all?) of these, so I'm also not missing out on one of the options I'd like, shaft drive.

In other words, still very satisfied with the big ZX

I was worried about chains too, so put over 120,000 on the connies so far. I bought a new leftover white 2013 ZX14r last year, put on the scottoiler right away and havent even adjusted the chain in over 20,000 mi so far, no oiling, no cleaning the chain, still looks new, sweet! Just top off the oil reservoir when changing tires, that's it!
Got a V56nnt this week after reading this post, thanks guy. My 2012 connie has been sitting since the ZX last spring, is just so much more fun, like the riding position better too!
Have demoed all the other bikes out there, but none come close to this motor, power as it should be!
