What I'm VERY tempted to do is launch Drag style...but IDK IF the tires are safe for that kind of thing?OR...if it would even launch like that with or without TC on?You know...get the r's up around 3500 or so...then let er loose. From a dead stop.(pre tire burn first of course;)I wouldn't want the rear to go all squirrely and shit.I don't know if street tires can manage that.

If I could be so bold as to offer a little advice? No pre burn necessary, I do it either tc on or off. Grip left hand pincer index and thumb. Clutch held little three fingers, they work the clutch pincer keeps you on bike. I run the bitch up to 7. I ease out the three fingers till I feel initial bite. I start to ease her out and feed in throttle and rubber band snap that out easy smooth. If the front end comes up a little I feather once or twice with the three fingers. Just little clutch feathers will modulate drive via rpm and feed in. Easy smooth practice. Start low rpm, like you say. Then increase in rpm and launch firmness as consistency and comfort increase.

Oh, did some checkin, Ivan's flashed ur ecu to an 11500 rpm limit. If we went 12500, we would need high comp pistons and the appropriate top end whirly gig upgrades.

Just take it slow bud! When you do it, use mode 1! I get wayyy fast launches in mode 1! Be safe! Mode 1 is nice cause ya won't loop out! OF COURSE YOU KEEP YOUR RIGHT FOOT WITH TOES OVER BRAKE IN CASE THINGS DO COME UP YOU CAN APPLY REAR BRAKE! Easy on that brake though, it's a safety measure, don't want to blow your fork seals cause ya shit yourself and stabbed all the rear brake.

It's definitely gonna take some practice...this launch deal.I'll be careful....TC1 like you say.

I see that rpm limiter raise there(in your upper post)...mine is limiting at 12.5(?)...so I don't know.I could be wrong...I don't think so...but maybe.I'll run er up again next outing and check it.I do know it bounces off that limiter at OVER 12K when I'm powering up from stop to 2nd.Soon as it hits....I shift.Quick glance at the rpms...it is over 12K.

I haven't made any new vids with the tank mounted cam in a while...showing the speedo and tach....maybe I should.Just so I'll know WTF is goin on at the time;)You know EVERYTHING happens so fast with this bike...I LOVE it!

Yup yup yup! I hear ya. The only reason I bring the rpm thing up is if it is that high. It's a little too high I think. The launch will come. I love to practice. Often the path to perfection is more satisfying than once perfection is achieved. I had to struggle to find technique that worked with other bikes. This bike and I are naturals together. I am bored with my launch now because its a good solid repeatable launch. I drop it at 7, I feather, I am fing gone. Over and over. I am bored with fourth gear too cause I've waited on it with my hand cranked WOT, so many times! ;)

Ok now I hate you guys. J/k.You got me wanting this flash. I am going to email Roman about this. The one thing I always see is this 500 rpm limit increase. I was always curious but isnt breaking redline a bad thing?

Not with the 14r, not by only 500rpm. The issue is piston speed and compression creating heat. This bike was flow ported by a master from the factory. Every head correct. So, fuel it right, tweak ignition timing(which Romans does / CAN'T discuss how! It's a tuners genius you pay for!!you don't get a look at his ole lady either!). And that 500 rpm translates into increased drive after the shift by a lot! You drop to torque not lag. Also, getting timing set and 'flowin' through its arc right as throttle is applied in increasing violence is what you pay for the flash for! Welcome to the face of GOD. Wish I had a flash done by ROMANS! :)) fuckin genius in a sword hand delivered! It's also why you see slightly better gas mileage AND COOLER TEMPS SEE! The flash is flawless! Head temp is right cause the eliptical shape of the explosion in the combustion chamber is right and bangin maximum boom! = efficient head temps = power = smooth = GOD in the right hand. Add in a proper application o that aggressive map to TC mode 1's control??? Gt the fuck OUTTA HERE!!!! Gimme that power map over the safety map! Gimme my own destruction in my right hand! UNLEASH THE BEAST!

As probably asked a million times, does it matter if I have the PCV? Does it become useless?

.

Performance Fuel mapping is still performed with the use of power commander, Bazzaz or any other fuel modifier. So yes better to have one.

Thx Roman. When I got the pipes and pcv I also had a dyno and custom map made. Will I have to get another custom map?

Ryan with any changes a custom map is always preferred to get the most or Max out of your mod, but not always necessary. I'm running this flash on a Completely stock bike with fuel added into the ECU in the area's that were adjusted. I have the PCV as well to be installed later, but for now all testing is performed on stock bike. Just my way.

PCV? Does it become useless?

No. I wish it was. Reason being, the custom map you have is not a direct throttle position swap. If it was I could just flash in your exact map for you. There is no 20 40 60 80 like in power commander. The ZX-14s ECU it's much finer than that. This is why no one offers ECU fuel flashed in. Well ??? I hear whispers. Still better to be mapped at your location and elevation by a pro IMO. Hope this helps.

Been talkin with Nels a lot about this. He has the woolich set up, we are just waiting on the cable to plug in to my bike. He has been successfully adding fuel in to zx-10r's with no issues. Dyno tested. Once the stock ecu is thinking right, external mods can be swapped and the ecu still delivers 13.1:1. I am not making it up. Woolich says it does it, this guy does do it. Anyone can call him with questions! He was awesome about answering mine. It is worth figuring so as to no longer need the PCV. Just my 2c.

I am not saying that the PCV route is not a proven path to power. I am simply saying that I would like to find a way to avoid one on Priscilla.

Have heard all good things about woolich, I know the cheeseman is playing around with it now for the 14R if I had someone around me that used woolich, I would go there in a heartbeat !

I think the PCV may not be neccesary anymore with these new files, as long as you got somebody around your neck of the woods that knows their stuff, which unfortunately I dont, at least not yet, if I find someone, I wonder if they can undo the Guhl flash ?

Yes of course. I am adding fuel as well but can not match all the different mods for all bikes. Matching each riders bike mods is best done on a Dyno for best results.

Have heard all good things about woolich,

I have Nothing but praise for Justin Woolich and all the hard work he has put into bringing us the amazing software. I absolutely love it.

Daryl, curious, why are you not into this on the 14R ? This is a bigger change in the new stroker motor for us then it was back when flies were removed on our Gen Ones ???? 5000 dollar BST's and no 250 flash ??? Do tell, this is so not like you ?

If it's because of your Dyno Tune, we can leave that untouched where it is and you can put this flash over your low power mode. Low power is gone but that what traction control 3 is for. Basically you will have 2 high modes.

Curious; Guys do you use Low Power Mode or just flip Traction sensitivity up ? All input welcome. Cheers
