Na, you can't delete anyone else's posts unless BG gave you special Ninja powers. I can't delete any posts except for my own.

Had the Zed14 ECU fine tune adjusted last week , which was a 200km round trip on the day to shop . This is the first ride opportunity since that day , so got out on the beast to enjoy some beautiful sunshine riding . Decided I would stop at the mariner for a few pics .

Hi Rook , thanks bro , that green sure stands out like dogs balls , compared to the original black ( which I also like ). It is funny , because I now get a lot of people come up for a look , which didn't use to happen before or on the Busa . Anyway , how are things progressing with your ZX14 , have you got your plan in motion for re build ? What about your Busa , are you getting that ride ready for next season riding bro ?

Ah bikes, bikes, bikes... Tell ya Toad, I haven't even opened the doors on my storage sheds yet and I'll bet they've been frozen shut all winter. I used to go there every time it snowed to dig the whole front of the building out so I could always get in. This year, I've been too busy. There has been so many things to think about. It would have been stress to mess with the bikes, not fun. The 14 still sits in shambles. The busa still sitting as it was when I last worked on it too. I think about selling all that stuff off now. Looking at life, I'm getting to the beginning of the last chapter and it wouldn't be a bad idea to divest my nonessentials. They don't cost much to keep but if it's not fitting my life, it might be a good time to sell. We'll see. No hurry.

I understand bro , whatever you decide will be the right choice for you , I'm sure . All good brother Rook , maybe , like me , even contemplating a motorcycling sea change , and thinking some kind of comfortable cruiser to retire on .

If you have space for the busa and the 14, I'd hang on to them. Add to the collection rather than replace if that works for your life.

Yes , the Busa and the 14 are bikes I plan on keeping , unless some unforeseen event etc. drastically alters my reality . I would like to add a third bike project one day , just undecided and not ready to start something else as yet .

All you need is a little space, time and money. I never had all three at the same time but if you have at least two, you can take your time on a new project bike. I messed with my ZX-14 for 13 years and it wasn't quite done. LOL maybe I will mess with it another 13 years!

Good advice Rookster , I am thinking on stuff while I save and stash away . Be nothing wrong with 13 more development years to devote to the ZX14 project . It will one day be an iconic bike , one to show the future lasses that most likely will only know plug in machines , take them back to when fast bikes ran hard on Gusaline.....

when I got the 14, it was reassuring that it wouldn't be updated every couple of years like the liter bikes were. As it turned out, it remained relevant a lot more years than I expected. It looks like we have some real competition with the Euro bikes though. A European liter bike might be my next choice if I decide to pay out big money for a motorcycle again. For flat out maximum velocity, I think a turbo ZX-14 or busa will always be the best choice among the gasoline bikes. A production battery bike will take that crown one day though.

Then again, maybe the world will realize that battery power isn't the most economical or ecological way to go.

No denying the Euro liter bikes are currently the fastest bikes , wow , the power to weight of both the Ducati V4 and the BMW are astounding . I would love to fit on one comfortably , then I would be tempted to own one , so not likely going to happen . The H2 , really the same again for me , I am not able to shoehorn myself to fit these bikes to enjoy the ride . Had a ride on the Gen 3 Busa last Monday , I found that pretty comfortable and liked it , feels very compact , compared to the Gen 2 using the same chassis . I still think about one of those TTS supercharger setups for the Busa , more so now because the new version with left side drive , looks very neat .

I find superchargers fascinating. It really seems like most recommend a turbo for the 14 or the busa though.

Got a feeling a lot more outright power to be gained from a turbo , but the instant power of the charger would be nice . Just the fact that supercharger kits for Busa are pretty rare , let alone the ZX14R in which case TTS do not cater for , would make the build interesting .

My fascination with the supercharger is that the engine makes power to run the SC which in turn gives the engine back more power. I know it's not free energy because it requires more gasoline to get the additional power but it seems ike free energy. The rarity of SC is also aluring, I agree. Seeing how the H2s lift off, that low end power has got to be exhilarating as all hell! The low end power is where it's at because you can experience that often. I am stuck on peak hp too though.

Winter over here , so I had the bike in for another ecu fine tune , and got some real nice improvement . The bike is still running pump gas 98 octane , actually same as US 93 ( equation is different was told ). Anyway , my tuner has been busy on the dyno , and got my thing pretty much as good as it will get , as is .

That's a beautiful thing Toad, the bike and the power! LOL The difference in those numbers is impressive, especially if this was a fine tune! We'll see if there's a new bike in my future. If there is, it will be this one and I'll set it up just like yours!

Maybe you've been following more closely than me (or maybe nobody is talking about it), what kind of tuning gains has the Gen3 busa made to this date?

Hi Rook , cheers bro , yes , the tuner got it done , with Woolich themselves to sort out an issue the bikes fueling was having . They got it all sorted now , thankfully , and this tune is the result . I am thinking this is about as good as it gets for my setup , that tune is for 98 unleaded , and I realized that fuel was put in bike by me , a day or two before bike was picked up for transport to tuners shop , on May 3rd . Bro , if you can , getting a Gen 2 1441cc is your start to something beautiful , maybe with that 08 Saphire Blue custom paint . I know you would love this setup I got , it is such a special bike to me , this is my first Kawasaki , and I love it as much as my Busa . I plan on keeping the motor as is , stock , it is powerful enough and more for my fat ass , but as always you never know what can happen .
As for the Gen 3 Suzuki , well the Woolich tune is out and available , the numbers , with race fuel is not bad , but the ZX14R is still the one to beat .

I'm happy the 14R ended up being top dog but I'm just as disappointed that the Gen3 Hayabusa didn't take the title. Even if the Gen3 busa edged out the 14R by just a little bit, the busa would be the bike for me. Hayabusas are really great machines and I'm glad I have the Gen2 I've owned since 2010. All I'm after in these bikes is power though so I'll take the one that has the most.

Great to hear from you toad.
