Hey hub all im saying is one of my friends friend has a new zx10 with exhaust and ecu flash and depending where we race from i either pull right away or after a second or two. And by the time we get to higher speeds the new 14 justs walks away pretty quickly. I weigh 155-160 he weighs 185. So the weight is still in his favor.

zx14racer, go track day with someone good on a ZX10R and see who does the most laps in 10 minutes.

It won't be you on your overweight whale ZX14R. Fast in a straight line, granted.

Keep in mind the RR is kicking ass and taking names in WSB and doing better as they work the kinks out. With a nobody riding it, they are getting podiums and ZX10Rs are not.

Who's that nobody? MARCO MELANDRI!!!!!! The guy came from MotoGP where you need to be one in a million to finish last!!!

Privateer--nice second and almost first in Spain for the BMW last weekend, but to be fair the ZX10 would have taken a third place if not for the end of race wreck.

Unfortunately trophies aren't won on merit. Almost, coulda, shoulda doesn't exist in racing. Beemer had almost another 1 and 2 if it wasn't for J Rea forcing Haslaam to crash and take Melandri out.

Word is the Aprillia has got the most power the Beemer is right there with it in the straights, the Kaw looses almost every time and don't tell me that he's trying to conserve tires. On the really tight tracks, that's where you see Sykes shine, the ZX-10 being light and all but Checa and his Duc are right there if not in front. If the Aprillia is the best bike on the grid the Beemer is second, Sykes had a hot start but everybody has caught up and if Laverty is back to his 2011 form, Sykes is going to have more problems. This is just an opinion BTW

In the mountain roads around here, the 10R would eat you for lunch, spit you out, and laugh at you. Heh.

Privateer you could not be more wrong. Me on my 14 can usally out ride guys around here in the tight stuff pretty easily. Thats all about skill and being comfortable on your bike. Most of us could not ride to full potenial on ANY of are bikes anyway. Just a couple of weeks ago i went on a ride with guys on all 600's and one 750,and they were amazed i was in the lead through all the turns. Just a better rider that's all. But once we hit a straight or two they were really pissed!!! Don't get me wrong i have had 4 600's and 2 1000's before this and they were MUCH easier in the turns,BUT my new 14r feels almost as good just takes more work. But for a comfortable and big bike the 14's handling is amazing it really is.

Nobody...and I mean NOBODY here will even run with me in any type of corners or whatever...I've tried several times when I came upon a sportbiker...just to get em to run through the canyons and such. They either back way back...or pull off and 'get some gas'....very disappointing .

y/w Racer....friggin badazz bikes aren't they?Full brock's 4 into one here...CT.Brock's map...guhl flash.I dropped 84(at least)lbs just installing that exhaust.I'll tell ya....that weight reduction right there made an already fast and nimble bike into something VERY VERY fun.

Stock 14r system weighs 92(atleast)lbs?

I think we went down this road already....I weighed my bike stock...wet.....584 lbs.I installed the exhaust...removed the rear fender...installed a Shorai....half tank of fuel....500lbs on the nose.I don't care if the exhaust weighed 35 lbs each....that's not the point. So I 'misquoted' about the exhaust lbs.My bad....nice change of numbers there on your questionLOL!!!!How do you get 92 lbs off a 584 lb bike...and have it come out 500lbs? I say 84 lbs almost everytime I mention this....because I forget I installed that battery.I'm human.

Math + me = FAIL sometimes... especially story problems.

Anyhoo Grn... trust wanna keep the info clear... Did you weigh the stock 14r system? From what I've been told, it weighs 42lbs. The CT single weighs eight.

So one could expect a net savings of 34lbs by changing out the factory exhaust on a 14r for a CT single, yes?

If you had netted 84(atleast)lbs from just the exhaust, as stated. Then 84lbs (net) + 8lbs (weight of CT single) = 92lb stock exhaust, yes?
