I didn't weigh it.Regardless of what anyone has 'said' or 'heard' about the exhaust system stock weight...the math is...584-fender weight(IDK)-Battery switch(10+ vs 2)...and the little bit more than half tank fuel@8 something a lb?The rest is exhaust....whatever it is.500 lbs.On the nose.92,84,21....end result...500 lb bike with half tank.

How much does the factory battery weigh? What model Shorai did you get? Did you weigh it?

Who said anything bout a fender?... but since you mentioned it, what's it weigh?

This would all be good info for guys looking to shave some pounds on their 14r's.

Nevermind, 10lb vs 2 for the batt... got it.

Grn we have the same bike, and same exhaust,i dont have the guhls flash i just took my flies out,and also dropped a tooth up front. My ? is does the lith battery make a big diference?? Or did you take all the weight off at once which would mean you don't know what the battery weight saving difference really felt like.

Guess you could get one and check it out and let everyone know here since it's so important to ya?

To Racer...the batt was 10 lbs...factory.The shorai...2 lbs...as weighed by ROOK in his how-to.Same battery.Feel a weight difference?...yep,I felt a weight difference...with all those combined.And yes...I did em all at the same time .

All in due time... Sure would be nice to get some of this info before spending the dough, however.

Not true... Loved both my 14's... Only way I won't end up with a 14r in the garage, at some point, is if Suzi comes out swinging tough with a new Busa... And I mean TOUGH!... not flip a coin shit.

Hey dogo the new 14r is an amazing bike. Its worth every penny. I had the older 14 and this new 14 is a beauty. With how i have it set up right now it's in a class of its own. But the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. I miss my 1000's sometimes too. But the SMOOTHNESS and POWER of this bike makes me love it. My friend has a 2011 gsxr100 the black and gold one. With yoshi exhaust he put down 166 hp and 79tq. I went on not 5 min. later and put down just a tad over 200hp and 117tq. That was awesome because i love his bike and i couldn't belive the power difference. The new 14 is amazing. On the dyno at this guys shop he has had a couple of gen1@2 14 and stock they put out mid 160's he told me,and with full exahust mid to high 170's. And they top out in tq around 100-101. And i'm at 117-118 tq,that's huge and on the street just crusing it makes a difference.

Yep... back to back, same day/same dyno, my CBR (built) and my 14 were within 1 hp of each other... but the CBR put down 25 less ft lbs... and it's the torque monster of the I4 liters... Huge advantage to the 14/14r coming outta the hole and/or lugging the rpms. Haven't had time to miss it yet, but sure I will.

Clear would be taking the time to weigh the factory system and batt that you apparently have sitting in your garage, no?

I don't look at the past...only the now and the future.Stock exhaust...stock battery...past...who gives a SH^% what it weighed?I don't.

Then I will have to trust the person, who took the time, that told me that the factory system, on the 14r, weighs 42lbs.

Grn14, put that 14R on a roadrace track at a track day. Put an equally skilled rider on a 10r or BMW... you lose.

Don't believe me? Go do it. Put it on a real racetrack.

Better yet, the sportbike club here in Hagerstown MD has a couple hotshots with 2012 ZX10Rs and they own the mountains in WV and western Maryland. Come here and try to keep up with them. Naw... not a chance.

Each bike has it's purpose. It has been proven that cars will shit on a bike in a roadrace. Who cares, who cares about anything enjoy your bike and enjoy the ride. I'm gonna race that guy for fun and wanted to know what it would br like. Sorry for the rant pretty fed up with life right now.

Race him?... Take Romans advice... Let the "race" happen organically... If you are fed up with life, a riding buddy can be invaluable.

"didn't you switch back for a while?"...yup...R&D.Always like to make sure my PERSONAL observations are accurate.Weight...performance...handling...engine behavior.Yup...that'd be me....R&D.Something works...I share it.Something doesn't work...I share it.I'll leave the racing to you and Privateer.I'll stick with my 150+ sweepers and my 'lazy' curves

What I can't seem to get into my pea brain...is why anyone would by a bike that is obviously"missing the mark"...or "Kawasaki just doesn't get it"....according to Privateer...spend all that moola on a 14 Concours....and then dis Kawasaki. Some one help me out here.

I wouldn't buy any bike that I felt "missed the mark"...I mean....what's THAT say?Must be fun riding a bike you actually feel is inferior

"Put an equally skilled rider on a 10r or BMW... you lose"...If we're equally skilled...how could I possibly lose?seeing I don't know how to ride ya know.....I go away for a while...come back...I gotta deal with the same stupid comments.Geez...

"Just one big happy fleet"...from Beemers to inaccurate weight calculations...to racing a zx10R....glad the OP got his answer
