Like i posted on bikeland ..

I like Ivans jet kits for the ZRX , i have used them many times and they were always spot on ...
Now on to this ECU flash thing, I want the best flash for drag racing ....

With that said have Ivan send me his flash and map and i'll do a back to back track test .. Because i don't really care what the dyno has to say ...Same day testing at the drag strip will tell the real story .. We don't race dynos we race bikes ..

hmmm, how would he do this ? Would have to send you a ECU. No ?

Smookin, can you do your own flash ? Early on I remember reading the software was for sale but don't know of anyone that has ever done it.

Yes Ivan would have to send me a ECU to test , he can Email his map .. When i'm done testing i'll send it back to him ..
If you want to find out what ECU flash and map makes the best HP in the real world and not on a dyno this would be the best test ..

Ivan,
A few people have requested to video the dyno runs and test the ECU's on both bikes due to the different exhaust systems. Is that ok with you? Obviously it only takes a couple of minutes to swap the ECU's, and a few more to pull both bikes. I know you have a thriving shop and don't want to cut into too much of your time....

The testing that you want to do is fine... Just remember that the dyno is only a full throttle test. Part throttle is where people will have to rely on what you say it feels like.

I don't want videos in my shop. You can bring a camera and photo the dyno runs on the computer screen if you like.

I can give you printout sheets that you can post too if you like.

I don't want photos of my shop on the web please.... and I certainly don't want this to turn into a circus.

I recently had surgery and I don't want this to be a stressful/anxiety producing thing for me.

Thanks,

Ivan

I am real interested in this meeting and the judgement.

Used the TRE on the 07 and loved it.

Am tempted to order up an Ivan flash for the R but am more than a bit unsure about the installation and what else may or may not be required to to get the full benefits, having no experience with PC's and the like or with ecu substitution.

Looking forward to the Seno-Ivan summit and any conclusions concerning the "best" alteration or alterations to make.

Also wandering if choice of aftermarket exhaust options would materially effect the viability of the ecu flash; or if the fueling would adjust to inputs from sensors accordingly without a PC "tune" or whatever.

Would love to purchase the parts and plug them in (so to speak), if thats all that is required.

This would make a good fall project to cap the riding season.

Will be eagerly awaiting the posted results.

From me that's all that's required... always plug and play, and you'll be hard pressed to make it run much better if you took it to someone to try and have it tweaked.

From me this would be possibly a different PC5 map... as long as the pipe is a full length exhaust. I don't bother with the short pipes that exit in front or at the riders pegs.... these are just problems at less than 5000 rpm.

Ivan,
Thank you, I appreciate it and respect your feelings regarding your shop. I'll see you tomorrow morning approximately 10ish. Hope you are recovering well from surgery.

I have used Ivan's products in my last 3 bikes and can attest that everything I have ever purchased from him had flawless results, and he was there for me personally when I had questions. I know a guy who had a custom map made for his 14 (2006) and went back to running Ivan's map after spending a ton on a custom map... That says something right there. There are many people interested in the ECU flashes, and this is being done to offer comparative data. It is very nice of Ivan to offer his time and dyno for the ZX14 community, which says quite a bit about him. Thank you in advance.

First of all, thank you Ivan and Seno.
Can a 1st through 5th pull be done to show the lower HP that Brock found is gone?

I just love it when I'm reading an old thread and just as the climax of the story builds page after page and you then just before the ending nothing, silence, no one responds with the ending of what happened :( Did Ivan kidnap Seno snd cut his fingers and tongue off so he couldn't post the results?

Hey everyone. I just bought my 2014 zx14r two weeks ago. I just wanted to say that I had the pleasure of speaking to Ivan on the phone last week regarding his flash. He is a true gentleman and was nice enough to spend half an hour on the phone with me explaining and answering questions about his product. He offered to have me come up to his shop and check out his zx14r which I definitely plan on doing soon. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

I have Ivan's reflash and a PCV with Ivan's map and the combination is AWSOME!!! The response from the motor is smooth and linear, torque at ANY RPM and the best part, smooth as a turbine!!!

I'm sure Guhl and others do good work, I know from personal experience Ivan does GREAT work!!! I fully agree with Ivan's philosophy of using a PCV, you can load a different map for a particular need any time you want. Want more power, better mileage, all around street performance, just change the map!

As a former engineer I can appreciate and respect the many hours of hard work Ivan has put in to develop his flash. Even when you have your own dyno it's not cheap to run. The many hours of modify, test, modify, test, and modify again until you have a product you are proud to put your name on are worth something, not sure I would do it for the price Ivan charges.

To me it boils down to the old saying "you get what you pay for" and I knew I was going to end up with a smokin' fast bike that was ultra smooth and very streetable.

Got questions, call Ivan and ask, his customer service is great AND he's the only person who answers the phone.

Can anyone list the steps to remove the ECU? Been searching and can't find it.

Jimmy B, I have been running Ivan's flash and Map for about a year now. The bike rips with no decel pop EVER. Great service from Ivan, no doubt. Don't hesitate to do it.

Auron, removing the ECU is as easy as:

1. Remove Seat
2. Remove Tool box under seat, you will see the ECU.
3. Remove ECU from rubber mount and Unplug and remove.

Okay...I'll give it a shot but can it really be that easy?

Ivan is getting my money, that's for sure. He appears to be the most dedicated and street-oriented flasher to me. We spend thousands and thousands of dollars on this outrageous land missle that should be illegal, I'm not sure why everyone is getting their panties in a twist over $50. You send it to his address in NY on his website right?

Yes its really that easy, I would give Ivan a call and he will tell you exactly what you need to do. I actually trailered my bike to his shop to get the re-flash but it can be done through the mail.

I purchased Ivan's flash back in June and I am extremely pleased with the results. His PCV map works much better with my pipe than the Dynojet map. He is very helpful and professional on the phone. Highly recommended!

Let me interject here, Hand.

Every time Ivan's name comes up I have this vision of 4 needles in a clear plastic kit, along with who knows what else? That yammie had this lagging lean setting in the carbs. Guess who had the complaint solved? They were praising Ivan for the change in tune at that website (I was booted out of years ago).

I would not place Ivan in the top end map/flash chasing. Ivan is a driveability guy. I'd tune your bike by the book and that is one tune. Ivan takes the lag out of the driveability: think fly/air gates opens faster way back when: 1999. So Ivan is going to put the smooth move to it, and like a bartender holds the bottle upside down longer, this is how you make a drink. So Ivan pours, watta smooth drink going down. That's his deal, and so is the map? Here I am reading deja vu all over again here as was the carb era. No going after HP, right?

I figure watt is the difference Ivan segways away from the brass and onto the mapquest. Once again, from the tre to the maps, the 'satisfaction assfactor needle swinger' keeps the consistency going. So, I'll bite, Smoke. What's with the map?
