.....no Grn should go with gold as a metalic color on that bike. You gonna buy something green, get it gold if you can!!
Rearsets yes! Vortex is the way to go on the 14 but they are slightly heavier than stock. Prolly be a big disappointment if the 012 OEM pegs/footrest/heel gaurds are even lighter than pre-012. Go with aftermarket pegs and keep the OEM brackets. GOLD!! CF heelguards if you really want.
I got the Vortex weights if you are interested.

You mean...like this?I like the peg position where it is right now.Very good for my size and all.I was however thinking about having that pipe protector anodized in flat black. And painting that pipe tab(and bolt head) right there that connects to the frame....gonna need some heel scrape resistant black panel of some sort to run along the top flat where my heel might hit.No Prob.

Yes! That appeals to me. Underbelly black would extend through the cans to the Al tips at the end. A nice segue and flow to that idea.
I might even be able to like the stock pipes look with that mod. Should be able to make it through a first season that way before popping for whatever turns out to be the best slip-on performers.
Of course, I'd love to see you do it so I could find out if it "works" without risking it myself!

Nah Grn you'r gonna dump those so don't spend $$$$ on them. I'd get a nice light 4-2-1 full system. ceramic coat it or just let it show. If you go all black I think the exhaust is gonna look bigger than it already does. The stock exhaust looks good except for the fact that it looks really stock. you heard me right. I could live with it but That would be the first thing I'd want to change. Wait to see what has the best performance and buy one.

Blacked pipe protectors....45 degrees out...full tank of fuel....she weighed in at ...TaDA!...560lbs wet. That's 5 lbs less than my 07 'modded' for weight savings. What an awesome ride this baby is!Simply MAHVELOUS DAHLINK!This bike will literally make your head swim when you punch er and wind er up from 1st through 5th.There's a way this baby hits in it's HP and torque curve that is absolutely wild!
Won't be needing anything to cover the top flats of the protector...heels are up about an inch or so,no way to hit that part.
Gotta say IF a guy lost the factory exhaust...say,another 30 or so lbs(and I think that would be right about the weight of the factory deal)...he's gonna have a REAL kickin bike.I'm leaving that weight on mine for now...she's WAY strong and responsive.EASY to hit 150+ in the blink of an eye!Rock steady.
Metzler's are doing good.Ktrc off....no slip except for a burst in 1st.WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They've seriously adjusted the ergos of this bike.I used to use either my Genmars or my Helis,or BOTH to get a more 'comfortable' feel for the steering. Not particularly for any wrist pain...but now....this baby is a perfect fit for me.No mods at all to any of the ergos with this one.VERY HAPPY.I'm liking having a bike of this caliber and not needing to make any comfort mods or speedo mods and such.Seat....THE BEST!Just great.Like sitting on a down pillow or something....WAY cool.Flies stay in.Pipes?IDK just yet. These ones on here really work well.Wind protection is just great.Aint gonna be changin that out either

Looking good GRN! I have to agree with the seat, she is a keeper. I don't hate the pipes anymore either, but I am still in the market for some slip ons once the aftermarket catches up. I like the blackout too. I was going to get some black rear sets soon, but may just follow your lead for a while and bust out the rattle can.

Thanks you guys..I now can't decide if I should clearcoat the protectors...give em a bit of shine like the muffler there.I'm gonna black out the rear silver portion within the next day or so.I really like the stock peg position. No changing here for that.
Ya...odd Winter here right now...but I'll definitely take it....45-50 something degrees during the day with no ice buildup at night.Extremely not normal. You don't suppose the BIG MAN upstairs did this weather thing just for me?200+ miles on her now.Runnin just fantastically good....clearcoated.

Dump it and get a real exhaust on there asap. Paint that up all you want.
btw, the stock exhaust is prolly gonna be super hot if it runs anything like the gen1. I doubt if paint is gonna last long on it. maybe on that heat shield but not on the end.

Hey Grn
This is the paint you need to spray the tailend of the stock pipe!

Acetone will take that right off if you don't wait too long. I don't think the blackout improves the look at all. Kind of looks like your trying to disguise it but that is like trying to hide an elephant by dressing it up as gazelle. ain't happenin. if you must, the flat black is a lot better than the gloss.

Thanks Snuffy. It actually looks a lot better in person.Nobody knows what this bike is 'supposed' to look like...so 'disquising' it would be pointless. It's the ONLY one in this state I'll leave it for now...All that paint will come off with a good sandblasting or whatever.
"You need to put the stickers and paint away and get the wash rag out"...only thing 'dirty' is some dust on the rim.It WAS sparkling BEFORE that pic This time of year here is ALWAYS bad for dust on the roads. But it's amazingly NOT coldish and there's been very good runs of days with nothing but lower temps and sunshine.Hope tomorrow is as nice as it is right now.
In regards to the Shorai....she's doing really well with the cold.I haven't had er on the charger now for at least two weeks..yet the few rides I went on....40 something degrees in my garage...she fired excellently.VERY STRONG.Think it's a keeper for sure.

Ya...anodizing....that's the ultimate goal. But for now....this is okay.I actually kinda like that exhaust...mainly...because most of the reviews done by professional testers have said that the stock exhaust is very well designed with this motor.Performance wise.I've got my set of new CS ones waiting for a midpipe...
