Maggie Valley is a good central location with lots of good hotels to stay in. The prices are very reasonable and they all are biker friendly. I will be up there in June with the M109 riders, but looking forward to taking the big ninja out as well. Is there a definate date? If I am only able to make it for a 1 day ride, I might trailer up to cut down on the fatigue. Someone please post a definate date. I usually make all my hotel reservations for my riding before the middle of January. That is when you get the best prices and have the largest selection.

OK, is there a definite date for this trip yet? I will definitely be there with the M109 riders 6/11-6/15. We will be located in the Maggie Valley area. I would like to make this trip with you guys as well.

blacklightning, I don't think there is a date yet. Most likely it won't get sorted out until spring. Send Black1 a pm, he's a pretty busy guy but he'll get back to you.

Wfozx14,
Right you are buddy been crazy busy ending some projects an getting ready to start some new ones as well too long of a story.

Blacklightning,

I'm with you the sooner the we tighten this location thing up on the meet & greet the better it will be a more people will attend. I don't think this is my gig an my gig alone this needs input from everybody.

Wolf,

You gotta make this one.

Ok I've been away from the forum for awhile I really thought that there would have been a lot more input but I understand that life gets in the way but its all good. I hope all is doing well!!

So as I read this thread it looks like Deals Gap has been mention the most. My idea would be Americade 2014 it is in Lake George NY. these are my reasons for picking Americade over Deals Gap.

It's a week long event, there is more then enough lodging for everybody, there's more then enough events to do whatever we/you want to do to name a few boat cruises, guided/unguided tours, test rides of all motorcycle brands. This is one of the worlds biggest motorcycle rally's I think it would be sick to have 20-30 ZX14s rolling down the main drag heads would turn crazy!!!

An most of all just about everyone who posted on this thread will be 5-6 hours away maybe a little bit longer depending on how you ride. Also if people dropout there is still an event for you an your group to enjoy!

I could still do Deals Gap but we are all going to have to put in an commit to a date. Americade is June 2-7, 2014.

Plus if we go to Americade an no matter where you come from north or south east or west with your friends who ride another brands of bike there is something there for them to do an see or do.

My

So is this still the list of people attending?

Wolf no problem I'm just trying to put some ideas out there. Like I said this is not my gig but there are 3 places that were brought up but not enough info. for people to make plans so somebody need to buck up if there's going to be a meet & greet anywhere.

I'm willing to go to Deals Gap but who else is willing to go an when??

What is Bear?

I'm in for americade, I will take you fellows on some great roads up that way. Just you tube Tracy Rd.
I won't have time to break away and head to Deals Gap.
I think we should meet up at Bear Mtn as well, I think that should be something we do every year regardless of other group rides.

Had to edit my original post as I've seen you're definitely experienced at putting a ride together. If I may, I'd like to make a couple suggestions. I've been part of many group rides and events and have organized a couple. This thread has been active since September with no real decisions because it is nearly impossible to organize by committee.

Sounds like you have narrowed down to a range of locations and time frames. I would create a poll with 1st question being location and the 2nd question being a few Friday-Sunday weekends. The available options are at the discretion and preference of the organizer. Leave it go for a couple weeks and make the final decision based on the majority of votes. Start a new thread announcing the place and time and then you can start figuring out motels to stay, get group rates, have locals suggest ride routes, etc. Or just pick a place and time and start from there. You're doing the organizing so you get to pick!

Don't worry too much about who can or cannot make it. That list changes both ways a hundred of times 5 months or so out like this. I can't tell you how many times I've seen something organized around the preferences of one or two cheerleaders and then a week before the event, they cancel. You never know who was ever serious about showing up until they do.

Just some suggestions Black, and good on ya for taking the initiative on this. I can't make this area or timeframe, but I may try to get something organized for something in the midwest, Arkansas perhaps. Of course, roads there don't treat those with stretched and lowered bikes very kindly, just saying!

Stretched and lowered are better left on the trailer at Deal's Gap too.

I agree with builder. I applaud the initiative even if this cheer leader can't go. The fact that three events are taking shape with dates is awesome. I will hope to see you blokes at one of these. For now, my wife lets me out to play in July and August only.

As for trailer. I am stretched and I would really enjoy the ride "to" and the ride "on" Deals Gap.

Wasn't referring to anyone in particular but this goes to my point. You'll never come up with one weekend that will work for everyone. And when you do try to accommodate someone, their situation can change and end up not being able to go by the time the weekend comes.

If you start with a poll at least you can identify the time and place the majority of people think they can make it.
