Dogo, that track looks awesome in the video!

This vid is better, IMO.

I was down to 160 lbs. in shorts in June but gave up on not eating and I'm currently back to 170 lbs.

Try this- no carbs (the occasional fruit is ok), no sugars... none at all, no red meat,
no eating past 6 pm and no less than 5 (small) meals a day. Forget about any fast food, greasy stuff,
large portions etc.
Do that for 3 months and see what the scale says.

And ride that stationary bike for at least an hour a day (in front of the tv does it for me)
because that liter bike will kick your ass during a hot and humid 20 min track sessions.
When I first rode my gen 4 this summer I struggled for the first few track days, and I'm a fitness freak.
And it honestly never got any easier compared to my 750.

Wait and see what it is to go through the growing pains (literally for days in a row in the midsection and
thighs) of avid track riding

MASS, I am no athlete's foot fungas. I was not taking showers with the football team. I was on bike after school. No activity butt a fat one. How can you go against your average racing 120lb jockeys, or you are a lanky Super Sic @ 165, or like me, one fat dick was the racing weight of 185. How much does it take to keep that head to body connect game and having that game to the end. Is it jock itch, or ball itch? Pasta Pizza MickeyD me. Bring the compee. Was the head game ready steady or the love handles or the workout?

I'm smoking that car in so many spots. There is about one place you single file on the conservative side. The rest, you'll be looking in the mirror not the track. This is a set your ass up track. This is a bide your time track. This is a, WOT the fuck you doing over here when I went there, you should have been here.

We come around again, you are getting the lappiss crapiss for a few laps, then I switchew every switch way butt loose. You are now sitting there waiting for it... Hello! Over here! You are going to love that track [IF] they move some more fucking trees watch me grow and buckle the track wit me roots is wrinkles.

Dogo,

Tell'em someone fell in love with the track. Tell'em someone sees a tree near the tarman, you have to ask who's side are YOU on? Tell'em! Tell'em, there are a few trees that are too close to the track is one. Tell'em, get the rid of the tree in the downhill S'is, or [use this guy's name, say] Ted Turner will 'POP' someone in the weeds is your average race. I told chew so, but your butt was on the seat, so now you are mirror meatell'em!

Maybe they'll let you take a ride on the, 'War Room'... That is going to be one busy track. I see a lot of get off's and these are cars I'm talking. This is a bull ring on tarmac. Takes balls to pass, then use some unorthodox lines. And man do I see plenty. This is bump and run. If only Super Sic could pull some moves, this is the place. I'm really impressed with the ribbon.

+1 I was thinking the 14 would do jus fine on that track but for that downhill right to left before the BIGass straightaway. That looks like that would be a blast but that is where you woul piss the 600s off except they will be so damn far behind you, you won't need to even think about it until you lap them. lol hheheh, maybe I'm exagerating a tad..but really, I think the 14 would be fine on that track. The 10 you'd be all set. Go ahead. Have your couple beers.

Now the trees, that might not be as much of a concern as it might seem. When I first saw Black Hawk farms I almost shat myself looking at all the trees. But then I noticed it was not so bad where you were likely to go off track. Good thing for me because I was off a few times at the beginning of the day. I bet they will have soft baracades on the corners where there are trees and they will clear the trees for a quarter mile at the end of the straights.

Rook, We are on 200 mph bikes now. Soon, 230 is nothing. Speed is relative. We went from the 14 to R for Fenomamommal for mother teapot keeps ramp'ing up the speed. This is a car track. Nasty driving. That guy driving shows how open he is. You are flying 180 say, everyone else is NASCAR close and now we are on bikes. Someone goes off the track, who wants to correct for a tree or it is there and it is too late. Looks pretty near the track, looking innocent on the straights. But it is one or a few trees too close @ 200 plus kind of acceleration. I just think you make a track, you run that barrier around the whole ribbon. The beauty part is cut me a brake or cut it down. Runoff, no cars damaged hitting tree. No barriers because they are too far away. If the track build mentality is not there yet... No won listens to turtle... WOT do I care. Ain't my track!

Not a chance that track would get built here, did anyone mention the "trees". No insurance company in this country would come close to cover it with out the removal of all potential off track hazards.

the owners would loose everything they own the first time someone got hurt

you see construction vechicles and people there while a car dose a hot lap, with a major crash and injury with that car, you could get time in jail for the owners and person who said they could, let alone the driver.

Looks like a great track, may look a lot different when finished

very jealous

Hub, the trees are being addressed... The Ridge and the remaining trees? ... don't forget, this place is far from being finished.

Mass, thanks for the diet tips... hadn't thought of putting a stationary bike infront of the TV, but that's a good idea... If it's in the living room, I'll use it... I've dropped from 250lbs to 220lbs over the last year. Getting down to 200lbs is gonna take another level of commitment... The track is my motivation!
BTW, I'm not sure about taking my 10r out there... You know as well as I do how unforgiving that bike can be to rookies like myself... THIS gixxer is right down the road from me... Watcha think?

Rook, the 14 is gonna be a blast out there... Since it's by far the bike that I am most comfortable and relaxed on, it's what I'll take first time out... Hopin' there will be a few Busas to play with as well.

Ethin, get your greencard!
J/K... won't be people and trucks there when the place open for events... that vid was just the owner and a couple of his buddies having fun on the fresh asphalt.

Seconds 0:45. Look at how close the 2 right side trees are, the left trees are no problem, cut me once.
0:47 says, those on the left are far enough away. Same set of trees at the 0:51 mark.

1:15 mark says, I have you on the left side, why is that tree there for you to push me off to the left or was it me to push you there? Too close get rid if it! This is the 'war room' not the ridge.

1:43 mark is WHY there? Stupid! Hazard! This is a runoff zone is any ribbon is zone it once cut it off.
1:50 mark says I am counting 6 in the way of the ribbon is blow you off the tarmac.
1:57 is especially here. Everyone bunched up on the brakes and off they go. WHY is that at the braking point? Put a breakaway brake marker(s) there then. Stupid place to keep a tree is a the braking/setup zone.
2:08 Look at that line. I'm going to take my line past the tarmac, and here is a tree to meet and greet. Smack him!
2:15 is more clutter.
2:22 Amazing! Look at that downhill S. I blow a line, I am going straight for that tree, look at my, 'that which stays in motion, runs a straight line right into that tree or john doe do I cut the S in half, no harm, no foul mouth I wish he was in front of my face is face it! This track sucks of trees.

And that is one lap of the waroom.

This is the place to pick up a well set up track bike, just be patient and jump on something that's within the budget and close to you for pick up:

WERA Classifieds/ bikes

Your 10r even in street trim with tape over the lights and with a set of race dot tires will be plenty capable and you could run with the faster guys in advanced group.

If you were to buy an already set up supersport, this would be my list of preference:

1. 06-09 gsxr 600- most popular race platform with tons of dirt cheap new and used oem and aftermarket parts readily available on ebay and all the racer forums; everybody knows how to dial the geometry and any shop could build/ rebuild an engine

2. 06-07 and the best year for the R6- 2008- same as the gixxer: very popular platform, tons of parts readily available, plenty of bikes for sale around and very well known as far as set up and engine builds

3. 09 zx6r- should be actually #1 in my list but is too new and thus more expensive to build and maintain but if your budget allows it you should get one

4. 07 and newer cbr600- great bike but not as popular platform among the club racers and thus parts are not as cheap and it's not a bike that is that well known as far as set up

Very nice! That superbike tail with the foam seat pad had me sold.

Any action shots that you could share? How was your track time this past season?

Not much in the way of action shots yet, but I made a lot of progress this past season. I took the 2-day Yamaha Champions school last month. It was great! Couple of pics in the Track Day forum from that.

My biggest challenge is getting to the point where I can bend enough to get into the proper body position. At age 65, I just don't bend like I need to. I can work on that, though...

Here's turn 1 on the east course at Miller (the apex is a little further around the corner):

Got a ways to go to get here:

Your body position looks good. With higher corner speed your lean angles will gradually become even lower.

I can't put my helmet under the gas tank while leaned over either. The guy in the pic is obviously just visiting,
not fair to compare- we're only human...

I've had my left elbow touch down unintentionally, never the right though.
