Finally got busted. We are going back maybe 2yrs give or take. This was the first shot of him even a few months or more before that. Our cat stayed in the yard, but this one owns a lot of territory. Every neighbor knows this cat being in their yard under a car, but always heads home at the end of his rounds that last all day. I've always seen him under a car going for the mail and knew where he lived.
Meanwhile, those 2 years turned into this guy I called Bigboy, because one stroke down his back says a very strong, and stout kitty. The owners can't cut his nails if they tried, because his swipe makes me bleed if I over stimulate him. Just not quick enough sometimes. Lots of cat scratch fever I keep humming and scratch to that song. He's not a lap cat, and you have catch him in his good mood to pick him up, but when you do it's not for long.
We had to put our cat down over a year ago, and Bigboy would hang out more. He knew where to get those back rubs. The owners were wondering where the cat would go so early in the morning, I guess yelling to get out [I was told later]. So the next door neighbor dropped my name, inquiring if he'd seen his cat. I got the heads up the day before about the owner looking for Bigboy.
Saturday I get a knock at the door. There's the owner and his lady friend asking me if I've seen their cat? I played with them asking if the cat was a tuxedo, and both said yes at the same time. Then I said, "I confess, come on in, your cat is in the back." We start walking out the backdoor and the cat darts off once we all came outside.
I thought that was strange that he'd run seeing his owner, but come to find out the owner is into F1 and called the cat Enzo. Meanwhile being outside, I'm showing him fresh water in a dog bowl to drink from, a little snack bowl [empty] being here all day, a scratch poll for him to watch his personality come out. I kind of calmed the their fears about anything strange going on with his pet. I passed his inspection, we became friend and he's relieved about me dropping more convincing things not to worry about, saying he's not out in traffic, around kids to torment him, knows where he'll be most of the time.
