Had to have our 21 year old put down about an hour ago. She was a little girl that never got past 8 lbs and was just a mean little shit and messed with the other cats for fun and sport. She would do anything to piss me off then get up in my lap and fall asleep while petting her. She would want to sleep on my keyboard while I was still using it then curse me out when I moved her. She laid in front of the dogs bowl and would dare the dog to try to eat. She was a half pint scrapper and the opponent did not matter.

Here I am crying over her like my bike just fell over and broke all the plastic. The next cat in the pecking order has already tried to lay on the keyboard then slapped the mouse off the table and put her head on the mouse pad so I would pet her.

All I can do is laff and wonder what will happen next

Well it had a good home. 21 years is a long life for a cat, no? Dog next door is hitting 18 and looks good. Going to let the feral in and play with it.

Heart felt condolences lytnin.

It's alway a very tough time after that awful decision has to be made.

25 years ago my wife said she wanted a cat so off to the animal shelter we went.
She saw 2 black and white rag doll kittens in a cage and instantly said "I want those".
I said "What do you mean "those"" and told her to pick one but she wouldn't hear of separating them so home we went with Jasmine and Josie.
I have to admit she was 100% right to take both as they were two amazing cats that never left each others side.
Fast forward just over 17 years and the horrible decision had to be made for Jasmine.
She hated going to the vet's so we had the vet come to our place.
I held Jasmine as the vet did what had to be done.
Still one of the worst days of my life.
My wife and I cried on and off for days.
About 2 months later it was a repeat for Josie.
Another terrible day with the same results.

Owning pets brings pleasures that cannot be described with words.
But unfortunately the cost is very high when you lose them.

All the very best lytnin.

Our two never forgotten girls...

Just found out my last cat (Sophie) that came from the used pet store last November is diabetic. Wife and I gave her the 1st insulin shot this morning and it went better than I thought it would. This cat does not like anybody other than me for some reason and dares any of the other fur buddies to get close to her. I guess she is attracted to humans with no class per the wife. I told her when one is the master of the treats then one gets all the respect.
This used cat is getting expensive but when she is purring when giving her love (petting) it seems worth it.

Get a knock-knock on the front door. Never saw the woman, knew the neighbor's face working on his Porsche. He said, you see a cat around? I said, is it a tuxedo cat? They both say yes at the same time. I said, come on in, I have a confession to make.

I lead them to the backyard, show them the fresh water bowl, the cat toys, and tell them he hangs here all day long with me. So I find out it's his daughter's cat, but she can't have pets where she lives. The guy is into FI so the cat is named Enzo.

They have a sigh of relief about letting the cat out now. My neighbor squealed on me, when they asked were big boy was. So we exchanged email and cell numbers. I sent him photos when he first came around. Gave me the heads up Enzo wont be over because he's going somewhere and his son is over watching the house and cat and is too scared to let him out I guess.

Funny, I saw some comedian joke about a 'feral at the screen door,' and could relate. That's where I'm going now, to feed the feral.

Meanwhile, you're a good man, Charley lytnin

Found a bathroom reader about cat psychology. Just got started. Saying cats sense something wrong when the healthy cat is beating up on the sick cat. Knew something was wrong with the unhealthy cat. By the time the owner took it to the vet, the cat was at an advanced diabetic stage I guess and put it down.

Finally got busted. We are going back maybe 2yrs give or take. This was the first shot of him even a few months or more before that. Our cat stayed in the yard, but this one owns a lot of territory. Every neighbor knows this cat being in their yard under a car, but always heads home at the end of his rounds that last all day. I've always seen him under a car going for the mail and knew where he lived.

Meanwhile, those 2 years turned into this guy I called Bigboy, because one stroke down his back says a very strong, and stout kitty. The owners can't cut his nails if they tried, because his swipe makes me bleed if I over stimulate him. Just not quick enough sometimes. Lots of cat scratch fever I keep humming and scratch to that song. He's not a lap cat, and you have catch him in his good mood to pick him up, but when you do it's not for long.

We had to put our cat down over a year ago, and Bigboy would hang out more. He knew where to get those back rubs. The owners were wondering where the cat would go so early in the morning, I guess yelling to get out [I was told later]. So the next door neighbor dropped my name, inquiring if he'd seen his cat. I got the heads up the day before about the owner looking for Bigboy.

Saturday I get a knock at the door. There's the owner and his lady friend asking me if I've seen their cat? I played with them asking if the cat was a tuxedo, and both said yes at the same time. Then I said, "I confess, come on in, your cat is in the back." We start walking out the backdoor and the cat darts off once we all came outside.

I thought that was strange that he'd run seeing his owner, but come to find out the owner is into F1 and called the cat Enzo. Meanwhile being outside, I'm showing him fresh water in a dog bowl to drink from, a little snack bowl [empty] being here all day, a scratch poll for him to watch his personality come out. I kind of calmed the their fears about anything strange going on with his pet. I passed his inspection, we became friend and he's relieved about me dropping more convincing things not to worry about, saying he's not out in traffic, around kids to torment him, knows where he'll be most of the time.

Ha, speaking about static E, my arm is over the steel arm rest, cat comes for his rubs, I'm getting shocked under my arm being leaned on the rail and when I move away from the rail, it's biting me like crazy. Can can't feel it as it going thru me.

Now that it's getting colder, molecules closer, I'm getting shocked going for the mail if I don't stab the key to the box first. I'm going to see the cat squirm a few times if he becomes the ground.

My Cat gave me the cold shoulder and walked away from me when I got home last nite. I took off early Monday morning to go visit a friend that is not doing real well so I was gone all day. This is a rescue cat that we have had for a year and she seems to favor me over the wife and she (not the wife) hangs out in the basement. I am down there a dozen times a day giving her (again not the wife) lovin. She (not the wife) did not get her attention that she is used to. The cat was doing the cold shoulder to me this morning but being the master of the treats I am once again in the cats good graces.

Ordered some 4 ft LED lites for the basement to replace the 4 ft florescent lites that have been there for at least 15 years. It seems to be alot brighter so I went down at 1am to check it out and found out that Sophie the basement cat had stolen my sun glasses so she could go to sleep.

BLAME THE CAT

Wife is a faded red head so I was having fun telling her she has all bark and no bite. She had just waked up and not had her Diet Dr Pepper yet. One of our rescue cats owns the bathroom and has a Serta bed on the floor and an old towel on the sink as she likes to lay up there. I go in the bathroom for my weekly shower and get me a washrag and a clean towel that just so happens to be the same color of the cat towel. While I was in the shower the faded redhead came in and switched towels and refolded the cat towel so there was no cat hair showing. I go to dry off and I am coated in cat hair. I ask her what the story is and she reminds me she is all bark and no bite so "Blame The Cat".

I swear that an old fat innocent white guy does not have a chance in this world.
