Since 1st week of April we have 3 more 10 year old female cats from the used cat store. April was two sisters whose original human passed on and the family dropped them off at the used cat store. Wife and I felt they needed to stay together so they came home with us. With in 2 nights they both decided to sleep with us. One is just happy to be in your lap and the other is a rascal.
The 3d one we got last Saturday and this morning came out from under the bed for treats I put down and let me pet her. Do not know her story except that she was adopted from the used cat store 6 years ago and recently wound up at the Humane Society and when they did a chip scan it came up the used cat store so they went and got her. She seems friendly but still scared so we wait it out on her time.
My dog and bird are thinking we need to bring home one of their species to even the clan out and I say no more ....

We have gotten 6 senior cats from the used cat store since 2019. Two have had to be put to sleep due to cancer and kidney stones. When the wife moved in with me she brought 6 cats with her and only 1 of hers are left. Yesterday we stop in at the used cat store and they have a 10 year old female that the police brought to them. Police did a wellness check on an old woman and when they went in she had passed. None of her relatives wanted the cat so that is how she wound up for adoption.
While we were getting ready to pay the adoption fee the head boss of the place called and said to try to get the cat population down at the store the next adoption is free of charge. We got a free used cat but still gave them $100 as a donation.

lytnin, you both have my heart. I have another feral that now visits. That's 3 fucking freeloader to deal with. Don't miss shoveling the kitty litter. That's probably the best part.

Mr Hub that is funny. We have 2 food bowls and 2 water bowls for the ferrels. Sometimes when we open the front door in the morning there may be a cat or two on the steps waiting for the food bowls to get refilled. Add a couple possums and a racoon after the sun goes down so sometimes we have to fill the food bowels up twice a day for the nite crew.
You are right and all of us are enabling the freeloaders ....
