His muscle loss in the shoulder was due to his not being able to workout because of the broken arm.
He may be able to adjust his riding style but with the extent of his rehab I'd bet it would be very very hard to ride at the level needed.

Congrats Alex Marquez!!!
Unbelievable result.

Miller is cursed this year.
Two super unlucky DNF's while contending for the podium / win.

And an unwanted hat trick for the Doctor.
Three unassisted crashes that were all 100% his mistakes and fault and what does he say in his post Le Man race interview?
"I think I have been unlucky"...

Alex M was incredible.. Like he has been waiting for teh right time. Today was almost THE right time ..First podium and well done..
Rossi.. Personally I wish he would hang it up.. I like to see Champs go out big and he has certainly been one of teh biggest, but "unlucky" ,? Not something one would expect to hear from VR

Rain and crashes of course big factors but then.."that's racing"...

Couldn't agree more chrly...

It would be great to see a champion like Rossi shut down big as you say, but

A) he will not (which to an extent is understandable).
B) some champions after an unbelievable career just cannot get their head around the fact that they are no longer consistantly winning and Valentino Rossi is definitely afflicted by this.
Unfortunately this generally results in reality being ignored and sportsmanship going straight out the window.
Just look at the 2015 MotoGP Championship for proof positive of that.
Ever seen another rider kick a fellow competitor off their bike and then make constant excuses for their own short comings for the next 5 years?

Unlucky?
Nah.
Wake up and smell the roses Valentino...

Anyone watch Moto2 ? Joe Roberts got his third pole of teh season and then they had a problem with the bike and could not make the grid until teh very last moment. He was still coming round teh final corner onto teh straight when the start lites went out..from there he finished 6th ...Outstanding way to keep his head in the game..

RE: 2020 MotoGP

Usually I follow my gut and make my predictions. Having MM in the mix you figure; who are the other two filling the podium... seems a little easier. But I've been silent the last few races because it's so random. So far it's 7 different winners, 17 different podium fillers; if I remember that snippet?

I think Miller had this race either dry or wet. I have no clue if that duc is desmo'd, where the harmonic floated that valve and tagged the piston. That pop of a flame out of the pipe says a bent exhaust? I don't think the injector knows zero compression and stops shooting fuel in there; and the fame front heading out the exhaust port is saying the tire spin up was one too many. All it takes is one split second and it's done. RPM's after that snowballs more parts. I think he cut the engine and saved it... saw him leg it back to the pits some. Plus, that carbon fiber tank can take the hit.

Rins would have been another story. The Wet Set is Rins, Zarco, Dovi, Rossi, Miller, Petrucci. Rossi had a shot for sure. Rins was pushing it and it bit him. Zarco had the fastest wet time, probably the best in the wet for sure. Zarco won that moto2 championship in more races in the rain if I recall, was his 2nd year winning it again. It was a race and a half today, but yesterday's grid position against the clock was the real race. Probably the best clock of the year, IMO.

This is where you wonder if Alex found something about the bike and it was a mistake to bring on Pol. It's going to happen next race to see if he can ride the bike to the podium again. It's brothers 1-2 at the end of the season on the podium together. That says MM lost very little.

Yeah chrly, that was sad. There are two approaches about that rear tire change fiasco, either keep the mechanic and let him stay at the rear end, because he won't make that mistake again, or off the team he goes. I'm not worried about Roberts. He'll do fine next round.

The Ducati is Desmo. Impossible to float valves. Unless they broke a rocker.
I predict that 2021 will be Rossi's last year. I think he's putting together an offer to buy the Avintia Ducati team. He's going to give up his Moto3 squad. Apparently there's a rule that prevents you from owning teams in all 3 classes. AM rode a great race as did Petrux. And Quatararo dug deep to extend his point lead. Probably the best ride was from Joe Roberts. The race was not supposed to be started until he took his place at the back of the grid. It will be interesting to see what they have to say about that.

Looks like a very good chance for two Americans to be racing Moto2 next season..Joe Roberts will be vacating his spot at American Racing and as he says " Improve my chances for running consistently at teh top" . and with his moving to a new team, odds are good that Cameron Beaubier will take his former spot. They are good friends according to Joe..

Valentino Rossi has Corona Virus and is out of this weekend and probably the next as well!
I'm not a fan but certainly didn't' wish that on the guy.
Hoping for a very speedy recovery for VR46.

What a world we are now living in...

So many stories.
So many permutations.
So many variations.
So many possibilities.

The above was written on the first post of this thread.
I thing it can safely be said that this has more than come to fruition this season.

And it's not over yet...

Story after story after story this season!

If you are not watching you are missing out.
Virtually anyone can win the MotoGP World Championship this year.

Yet another different race winner, and yet another new Championship leader.

And have Honda made a massive error not retaining Alex Marquez???

Well, AM is going to the LCR team so he'll still be on a Honda, just not Repsol. Don't know
if he'll be on a 2021 bike or last year's model. It may actually be good for him. Less
pressure and a big opportunity to learn.

Sorry Mad.
Wasn't as clear as I should have been.
And have the factory Honda team made a massive error not retaining Alex Marquez???

The last few races will tell the story...

Just watched the race a few minutes ago... was out of town. Family Marquez for next year. No doubt if AM finishes out podiums like his brother did last year, they'd be fools not to works the kid up with the latest 2021 development pieces. However, nice to see MM and Rossi out of the game for a few. Too many variables between brands and riders makes it more interesting these days. Hard to choose a winner so I gave up trying.

The dream team is making it happen. Guess I didn't see how consistent Mir was to pass both early leaders. Still a tight race for the big one.

The move of AM to LCR was announced a couple months ago. Clutchblow may go to Aprilia. I'm
not sure but I think Crashslow was on a current spec Honda. They had him also test any new parts. So Alex could be on a 2021 RCV next year with LCR

It's like throwing dice with these guys. No fluke #2 says Naki has pole and wins one. AM creeps up on the rest, Rins finishes the podium. Do I need my glasses changed or does Rins lower that suz past 62° or what? I guess it steers.

So MM's principal says AM is on a factory bike in a satellite setting. 'If you like that frame, you can keep that frame'. No engine changes for next year I forget? AM won't be using any hand me downs to a satellite team like they did for years with crashlow. What are we looking at, another Rossi type I still have it in me? The moto2 ranks are filling the gp field faster than a 14.

Crash and Rabat to WSB... put a fork in'em.

So many stories.
So many permutations.
So many variations.
So many possibilities.
So much to look forward to.
Maybe even Rossi will win a race or two.

So many inconstancies. The drama story for Naki. The bad move by yammie choosing the wrong satellite rider. Two elite riders takes the other out. Not Dovi's fault the duc team did not keep up.

On the other hand, AM to me acts like a tea kettle. Takes a few laps before the steam leaves the hole. Not a qualifier like his brother, but more the warmer upper and can literally smoke the rest of the field. And it bit him today. He's not a crasher so he's going to brother up and probably both will dominate the podium together next year.

That dream team panned out for suz. There's the only thing consistent is Mir.

For moto3; Sergio Garcia needs a second look. Not sure [trying to stay awake], but mem says I saw maybe 3 last-markers before he came out of the penalty box and filed in at the tail end. From there on I watched #11 climb the running order. Garcia peaked at 3rd place, then down to 11-12th somewhere; laps to make it up but I think he was mentally exhausted and crashed out near the end with someone else. Impressed me.

Should I drop a name for; will win a race or two? Rossi is producing some fine academy talent.

Someone is looking at some video of MM watching his brother on TV and notice he was using his other hand to move his arm. Flying rumors around that MM has nerve damage like foggy had and retired from racing. That says empty seat and AM goes nowhere is how I see it if true.

Hub, I think there is much more than meets the eye with Marquez's injury.

All this time and still not racing?
We all know it was a serious injury but IMO something very serious has happened here that Honda are keeping very quiet about.

The only thing that confuses me is he rode the bike in the practice sessions for the following race after the accident and did well considering.

Ah well, no point in coming back this season.
Time and next season will tell.

And I agree this may very well fit into the younger Alex Marquez's favour..

The True Valentino Rossi

Watch the first shown version of the incident on this video.
While Marquez's vision is concentrating on nothing but racing and his lines, watch Rossi look over and size Marquez up not once, not twice, but three times.

Now just before the two come together, pause the video.
Now continue frame by frame.

***Important***
Watch nothing but Rossi's left lime green knee slider / puck.

P.S.
Just incase any of you don't want to watch the video, see the below screen shots.

Remember, just look at Rossi's left lime green knee slider / puck.
Look where it is in the first pic, then look where it is in the third pic.
Look at the gap between Rossi's inner left knee and the tank?
Then look at the leg angle and it coming back into the bike (where it should never have left in the first place) in the forth pic.
And at this point, Marquez is gone...

Dorna and Rossi fans couldn't see this?
No, because Dorna and Rossi fans didn't want to see this...

This vid and these pics tell you absolutely everything you need to know.
In the words of Ben Shapiro, "Facts don't care about your feelings".

There is no doubt.
There is no ambiguity.
There is no question.

Does any one here think that this is acceptable or forgivable?
It was the day I lost complete respect for Valentino Rossi.

Any other vid's on VR46 you'd like to share Hub?

IMO...Marquez forced a response from Rossi, and he got it.Leaning into Rossi's bike was NOT okay.Looks like he tried to push him more inside.Off Rossi's line that is.I didn't see any 'kick'.Only a leg trying to buffer the impact. That's what I interpret from it.If he got pushed away...oh well. That's on him.

I'm not seein a malicious move on Rossi's part.Only tryin to save his line and bike.Marquez shouldn't have been leaning into him.Dangerous.
