She does see the vet. I've had enough paw play to be scratch open. I carry a paper towel roll around to wipe the foam out of my mouth... why do you ask?

We started with 3 in 2000. Down to 2 a few years back and now these 2 are 19 ... and they're age is really showin'

2 decades with the same 2 pets is ... well ... it's not gonna be good when they go.

I just saw that Danno's is 19 too I can't take credit for ours: My woman is absolutely meticulous about getting ours treated anytime something comes up. She does the work; I ju$t pay their bill$ Jag has all kinds of problems now: Been on heart meds for about SEVEN years. And vet just diagnosed him with bladder cancer Subsequent visit to the pet oncologist at Univ of FL did an amazingly complete, overall health check, and yeah, he's got some problems, boy. But he still keeps on kickin'. Oh, yeah, urinary tract infections: He gets them all the time. Constantly on the next new antibiotic, whether for 1 week, 2 or a month. Some liquid, some pills. My lady keeps 'em going. This is the same way she treated her mom before she passed a couple years ago: Administered a level of care so outstanding she can literally extend somebody's life.

Oh yeah ... in 2012-13 we started planning to visit our friends in New Zealand. Well, Jag had been having so many different problems, and seeming to go downhill that I had in mind we would go after he passed. Then in 2014 he was stable so we decided to go anyway, and trust our friend's niece to stay with the cats and care for them. That wasn't easy but we did it anyway. She did great, though. And here we are 6-7 years later and they're both still kickin'

Oh, one more thing: Our cats are indoor ... except that we let them out to graze ... they CRAVE grass, like a goat! 15+ years ago I would grab a handful of grass and bring it inside and they'd go crazy over it. Then I thought, Why should they have to wait for me to bring it. So I installed a pet door in the wall of our house, and that led them to an outdoor fenced enclosure in our part-sun part-shade backyard, with a top, that was full of grass. So they could go outside, enjoy nature (without killing nature ... and without getting killed), eat grass, get some sun, etc, anytime they wanted. And they did, every single day at least once. I even built a tall cat climb structure in it around an oak tree using long 4x4's and made 48"x18" plywood platforms so they could climb up from floor to floor to 8 feet above the ground. Then we moved in 2015, and I still haven't got them a good setup going yet. What we do have is a circular shape of horse fence (wire fence) with a small door, and each day we put them in it so they can eat grass, then we bring them back in. The circle fence is really only so we can go back inside for a few while they graze ... because in reality when we let them out know, they're so old all they do is stand very close to the door, eat some grass, and turn around and come back in. No hauling ass away to chase something. They're too, uh, "mature" for that

Jag pic today. For 19 his full coverage hair is amazing. If only his internals didn't have such problems.

Cali was got by Pam. We have a small low-brow resort town island called Cedar Key on FL's gulf coast about an hour SW of us, and some years we spend the day at their annual arts festival. This particular year she went on a Sat with her brother. At some point they were walking along one of the roads to or from the festival activities and passed a dumpster with tall weeds beside and behind it, and little future Cali was wandering around there. She approached Pam and her brother and was very friendly. But they felt bad for her because she seemed to be homeless and had a bad wound on her right hip. Not being sure they decided to leave her there. But the next day they decided to drive to the festival again, and before they left Pam asked me, if Cali is still there, that was the proof she needed that nobody owned her, and so she'd like to bring her home. I said, "Oh yeah! Sure!" figuring no way would they find her again. Well ... the rest is 19 years of history.

Jag I got at the pound. He was in one of those cages that are mounted against a wall, a grid of cells, like a builtin bookcase but with doors of course. He was in one at the same height as my shoulder, and when the person opened his door he stepped right out onto my should rubbing against my head back and forth from one shoulder to the other, back and forth, purring the whole time. So that was his hook.

Now gone cat #3 was Boo boo. We 'think' he was Jag's brother, but they were in different cells at the pound so nobody is really sure. Nevertheless on that same day Jag snagged me, well I didn't have the heart to get one cat and make him have no buddy, so Boo boo came home too. The two always got along perfectly, similar shape, size and mannerisms, so brother or not it worked out great.

Found a pic of the former cat cage. This is the area they could go to anytime they wanted since they had a pet door flapper dealio leading right into it. In the pic there's a cat on levels 2, 3 & 4 I really need to set them up again with something similar.

" well I didn't have the heart to get one cat and make him have no buddy, so Boo boo came home too. Been through several milestones with em.Now they sleep right next to me on the bed. That's REALLY amazing since for a month or so,they didn't want me to touch em or anything.Everyday they act towards me just a bit more close. So glad I got em outta their cells.

Yeah Grn, seems usually cats learn over time when you're good to 'em

Our female, Cali (on level 4 in the pic HAHA), HATED having her stomach touched. She was super easy going in every way, except if you touch that stomach she would SLAP YA man! No claws, but a good quick unpleasant SMACK on the hand. But over the years when petting her I'd ease my hand more and more onto her belly, and now she loves it.

Kitties and 200 HP ZX14's don't seem to go together ... meh whatever HAHA!

;)yeah, about the stomach thing.Know what ya mean.BUT,the darker one BeBe just recently started rolling over on her back and wants me to rub her stomach as long as I'm gentle. No way would EVER allow anything like that before.Same with Babesy.JUst mews at my feet, then gets all weak and just falls over to let me rub her tummy. They used to swat and grab my hand and bite down on it,nicely though.Never trying to inflict harm. They're just saying 'not right now'.Cats are awesome.Babesy has a way of grabbing my leg around the shin, then gently(enough to get my attention though)bite my foot or ankle when she REALLY wants a good rub.So damn funny and really cool.Stops in front of me on the way down the stairs and won't move till I reach down and give her a good patting.Too funny!I love these two.

There WAS a time I didn't think this would work out.Something kept telling me 'they're CATS fer God's sake.Lighten up.Chill out.Let em be who they are.Don't do anything dumb"...so here we are...
