Yeah, the last of the front engine Vettes / last of the manual shift Vettes, and coronavirus cash flying all around has made the 2019 ZR1 appreciate very nicely! ... never saw that coming. In 2019 I woulda guessed that car would be the biggest depreciating Vette of all time! I freely admit I cannot predict things!

My problem is, I'd buy that Saturn and park it. Can't say for sure, but that's a down the road$teer. Daddy, way before yanni posted the porsche thread... dealer had a floor sitter, top of the line, 140+ sticker on the last C body style/front engine and all that $$$hit. I coulda-shoulda, oh the EXTRA FLIP!
Extra, you flip that. The never look back, but I had one and all that. A moment of enjoyment, oh yes I can handle that.

I love my 911 but look at the comparison.
Only one winner here.
Hub, maybe a change in direction?
My most favorite photo of all time is the plastic still on the steering wheel of a GT. I'm just a line looker/bubble eye kind of guy. The Pinni line, Saturn lines, jag bubble, porsche bubble, vette-gt lines. I'm going crazy with directions.
Right now I'm taking classes on porsche ownership, backyard work, independents shops, porsche club vids. Home is the work we continue the covid. And as the drilling down of used porsches, I caught a line and that convertible's line looks so mean looking, as in...

The reasoning behind staying away from the soft tops are why? Aren't those soft pedal kind of ladies cars? Slows down a lot look at me? Bearings be soft on the rollers you'd think? Okay, just thought of a lady car and the soft tops are all auto?

Matter of taste but you tell me what looks better?

Pretty, but yanni had it right. I may have looked at one for sale and that photo angle, the year(?) just had that hotrod pitch to it. Not so much now.
Edit:
Wait a minute, I didn't see it with the top up. That is pretty wicked.

And another thing, a duck sort of steers weird, or drops quick so you have to have a feel for the bike, yes? Though these things are easy to spin out because of the engine placement, I'll assume that Paul Walker was spun around with that car getting violently out of control.
I'm just saying, one guy talked about a bike I crashed and he said it was a nice bike if not pushed, and I pushed it. I get it. So if I'm a pusher kind of floor stomper, I'm out 10k at the center just seeing where the limit is.
Here I am boxing more rear seats, trunk, door panels just to lighten up and power to weight that way of gaining HP while keeping the dependability in check, cough, v. writing a check.
Doubt if I want to pussy pedal the thing.

Only error in your statement is replace "are easy to" with "can".
Tech developments and massive rear rubber have improved this greatly (but not completely).
The answer is same as riding a bike really.
Make sure you come into a corner at a strong approach speed and accelerate through keeping the weight on that rear contact patch.
No decelerating!
Let off mid corner at speed and you bring into play the rear leading you out of the corner.
However you have to be pushing pretty hard to bring this issue into play with later models.
So if I'm a pusher kind of floor stomper, I'm out 10k at the center just seeing where the limit is.
Doubt if I want to pussy pedal the thing.
Hopefully your run at the center will reveal all to you either way...

Design lines on a Cab v Coupe?
Only one winner in my book.
Even when comparing to the slightly older models...

One thing Porsche seems to get right every time now is the fender-to-tire gap. Love it when they fit right tight like this! Why can't all manufacturers do it?? Sloppy, that's why!! Even Ferrari's and Lambo's these days get sloppy high sometimes.

Could be, Grn ... altho Audi can even do it with a station wagon! https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2021-audi-rs6-avant/ Possibly a rough ridin' station, but looks cool!

Just came back from TRE motosports. Picked Dave Bouzaglou's brain about the GT3's and mentions to run the ceramic bearing and call it a day. Gave me the 996, 997 an 991' from 2003 to the met-eng of the '09's and up. Said the tiptronic trans were a good deal.
Ha, asked if he was busy and his eyes rolled. Asked if he was looking for a mechanic and teased him. Shit, I could have started on Monday. Very nice guy.

I could be wrong about this, but all that pent up time sitting home working, paying bills off and now money coming in and not out. With the delays around the world due to covi, cars sitting assembled without the black box. No inventory at the dealers. Used is sold at a premium. In other words, I am at the up trend line of a seller's market.
Now the window is to wait for that down cycle to become the buyer's market. I'll give you an example. Crazy prices for a used R1. One guy is asking 18,500 for a 2016. You look up a new one and they are the same price. What is this guy thinking? Look up another used one and they are way out of line if KBB is a guide.
Then drilled my insurance broker and asked about kbb v. insurance estimate. Well, basically he says, you crash it next day, they would have to replace a used one and buy it at that price for a replacement, not necessarily using kbb to pay you off.
So bottom line, I've got enough of an education replacing the engine with the ceramic bearing, and find a low miler at a kbb price... it's out there.
What's that proverb about patiently waiting?

Hub, LA is always the highest P Car prices around because of all of the disposal income in the area. I know several guys here that have bought out of state for much better prices than HelLA. These guys do buy the high end GT3s and Turbos and then they get the aftermarket warranty to cover any of the big stuff. They've told me some of the deals they get and they seem like really great values compared to LA. Friend Donny bought a Panamera Turbo to go with his Turbo S Cab and ended up getting a new engine covered.
Good Luck in the hunt, Ill ask around maybe someone here is thinking about thinning the garage out

By the way - Dave is the man in the Valley, but you know that now. He use to do these fun runs on new years day out of his shop into the local mountains that always attracted all of the fun stuff in LA. Also if you ever get a chance to know Magnus Walker you to are cut from the same cloth, just different rides.
And, If you get a chance to talk to Tony Callas at Callas Rennsport in Torrance he is probably the most knowledgeable wrench in LA about the modern cars you are considering

Hub, if I could afford a turbo'd 911 (2005 997 or later), I 100% would have gone that way for sure.
If it's in your financial reach, its a brilliant option.
Massive performance increase.
Wider and more aggressive body work.
A magnificent, over designed engine that has no underlying issues.
Comes with many additions as standard that are optional extras on non turbo models.
Holds (and increases) their value better than most Porsche's.
And simply has the badging on the rear that states "Turbo"!

Lost my mind and bought another one This one already has 5k miles, tho, so guilt-free miles Felt bad about not letting anybody drive the red one so bought it specifically to drive and let fam and friends drive, and take to the annual Ford GT Rally ... then I'll probably sell it within a year
